I'd like to see bad movies with interesting plots redone. For example, I liked the premise of the Apatow movie Funny People (dying comedian takes young up and comer under his wing), but the execution was piss poor and the movie was almost an hour too long. But I agree with the consensus, redoing classics is a bad idea. Its just a money grab.

The Wizard of Oz. I don't give a crap if it's a "classic" or not. The movie barely resembles the source material. If you took that book and followed the format presented with the Potter films to more closely resemble the source material, and considering how many books are in that given series, it could be a goldmine. agreed, i would love to see it get remade in a tim burton-esque way tho. definitely a darker take on the source material Meh, I get tired of the Tim Burton tone and Tin Man took that darker tone and was pretty decent to be honest. I agree they don't stay true to the source, but it's like someone remaking Citizen Kane at this point. The movie to so well regarded and iconic to remake it will always draw the comparison. I actually want Street Fighter remade. Although if Raul Julia was still alive I would demand him as Bison, he was the only great part of that movie. The remake/Legend of Chun-Li was so awful. I also would like another go at Hitcher Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy in a longer series of movies. I like the one with Martin Freeman a lot, but I think it can be done extremely well if it was a series.

Let's see...
Ghostbusters - If the Ghostbusters franchise adds any new film, sequel, remake, or whatever, I will be very disappointed.
They Live - Just no.

Lucas pretty much remakes the Star Wars films every time they get released.

Star Wars saga Episodes 1, 2, 3, and A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return to the Jedi, all 6 movies need to be re-made and I know everyone is going to say that it could never be re-made but with the right cast, it could be really good and especially if they stay true to the original trilogy and make it even better, then I believe at some point they could re-make it Wow. Dude is serious too....

The Wizard of oz already has a few reimaginings in production already. I would maybe like to see another take on Waterworld I enjoyed the movie when it came out and still love the movie today. But with the technology now they could make it amazing like it could be alot more scary and darker add a few more pirate type gangs a ton more sea monsters etc maybe make it rated R.

*Flame shield up*
In my opinion the only remakes that work are horror movies, they can make them more realistic now, and because I didn't grow up with older horror movies, remaking them would be a way for me to actually sit through some of these great stories without having the laughable effects.
I'd love to see a remakes of 60s, 70s and 80s horror films. I thoroughly enjoyed the remakes of "The Hitcher" (I'm a Sean Bean fan), "Halloween", "King Kong" (I know it's technicall y not horror), "Nighmare On Elm Street" and in a way "Hollow Man" (remake of The Invisible Man), and "Friday The 13th".
I'd like to see remakes of:
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The Phantom of The Opera. Creature from the Black Lagoon. Invasion Of The Body Snatchers.
And a lot of others. Remaking older horror films is quite an untapped market to be honest, there are a lot of great stories out there that need retellin to a new generation.

At least do a sequel that is worth a sh**. Bring back Jamie Bell though if you are going that route. I think Logan's Run would be great as a modernized remake, but In Time was sort of the same idea. I love In Time, I felt like a lot of people hated it though. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Swamp Thing, and 1984 could all use updated film versions imo. The concepts of 1984 get worked into so many films and novels, even things as popular as Hunger Games, and we got Equilibrium, which is amazing, but I would like to see a 2012 style adaption of 1984.

*Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. . that was remade not too long ago with Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman.but it could be done again......nothing will top the 70s version(which was a remake itself) this and John carpenters Thing are probably the greatest remakes out there.

Funny People was a really good movie, until it went into that love story involving one of the worst actresses ever named Leslie Mann.. If it wasn't for the last 45 minutes of that movie, it would have been beyond good. I loved Funny People. And I enjoy it alot, obviously.. But they did remake it.. Called it "50/50".
