You know it's funny.. I just read on here how a 14 year old kid is nervous to buy a action figure of a "girl" because he's afraid of what people will say or think when he's cashing out.. Well, I'm 27 years old. I've been buying figures since I can remember. Never had anyone say anything until this morning.. Allow me to tell you how I handled the situation....
So, I find Zack Ryder @ TRU decide to buy him and head to the cashier. As I'm standing in line. A really cute girl and some guy she's with walks up behind me and stands in line. I'm notice a butterfinger candy bar and think to my self, I want a butterfinger bar too. So, I grab it.. I throw the figure and the candy bar on the belt to get ringed out. The girl kindda chuckles and say's.. WOW! That's when you know it's a good day, action figure and butterfinger.. I turn to her... pause for a breif second and say.. Actually, Your right, it is a good day. But, you know what would make it even better?... If you tell me the guy your with is your brother and you let me take you out some time. Afterwards, I can show you my entire action figure collection!
She look's at me in shock. proceed's to laugh and say's OK DEAL....LOL So, Thanks to good ol Zack Ryder and a butterfinger bar.. I got my self a date..LOL
Point of the story being.. Really? Who gives a Sh*t about what others think. Have a little pride and confidence in what you do and collect.

You're totally right but imo it's mostly just an age thing. I loved buying and playing with wrestling figures up until 6th grade where all of a sudden I just started to feel really embarrassed by it. Now I'm going to be 19 in a couple of weeks and would totally buy more if they weren't so expensive lol.

Good advice! I've always been nervous once it came time to check out, regardless of my age. I'm 19 now and still not 100% confident. But this gave me a sense of pride and confidence. Thanks, dude.

i done that many times kind sir! and i tip my hat too u, for having a set & speaking your mind! i really dont give 2 craps about what ppl say, when i buy figures. majority of family & friends know i collect. my family even tells me & my others bros we so easy too shop for, for xmas! being we want figures!!!  aswell many girls love my collection, they even say its cute & can i have a chair. i let them, being i have plenty more. only 1time, & 1time a girl came over. and basicly laughed, but i laughed at the end....when she got kicked too the curb after i was done! lmfaoooooo  |
