I stopped collecting. Partly because it was during the end of the Jakks run when they were getting a bit lazy, partly because of money, but mostly because I was finding it hard enough to pull the ladies without having to admit to them my action figure collection. It's a silly reason, but I can totaly understand why people do it.
Bravo on your date, and for giving hope to nerd-kind! It is a confidence thing.

I hope it happened, but something about the whole story seems highly unlikely.
If somebody had enough balls AND game to actually say that to a girl who is in a public place with a guy and have her say yes, you would have had a gf already.

I'm 22 and when I first started back collecting a few months ago I was always worried about someone saying something. No one has and I've even had a couple of talks with some of the cashier ladies about their sons collecting figures. Luckily I've seen many MMA fights and am well versed in Steven Seagal movies so if any of them run their mouth I won't hesitate to take care of it.......as long as they aren't black. Or Asian. Or Brazilian, Or a really muscular white guy........or woman. I get the most flack from my family. They're always oh your 22 why do you spend all that money on toys. It's time to grow up blah blah blah. Meanwhile they spend hundreds of dollars a month on cigarettes and my brother blows money on alcohol and a the end of the day they have nothing left to show for it other than lung cancer and liver problems.
