i used to b a machine operator...so tooling can mean different things, but when it comes to action figures.; A figure needing new tooling would imply a new mold. Most likely making a new Undertaker head to put on the existing body they have

Some great news there - sometimes having 2 versions of a Flashback guy; Mick Foley ("each of his personas deserves its own place in the spotlight!") and the distribution on the new BAF series. Can't wait. ;D

Im thinking the special TRU Elite for the big book will either be shawn michaels ref or I could even imagine an edge with short hair in HOF attire. I really hope its not another rock!

lol, truth. Good Q&A info, though.

Sounds like mostly good news. Definitely keen to see the WM28 set. Hopefully they can get takers complete look including the jacket done.
Not surprised but great to hear they started on a new kane straight away. Really hope we can see him at SDCC.

When does the big book come out?? I think he's referring to their Christmas catalogue that comes out around early to mid November. I really hope the Build a Figure isn't Justin Roberts like I've been hearing. I would like for it to be Jerry Lawler or Tony Chimel.

Q-"is there anyway that distribution can be changed from the michael cole wave to include an even number of all figures in the wave per case? " A-"Yes, we have adjusted the distribution for the next wave so that every case pack will have all 4 figures (meaning if a store gets any of the figures it will get all 4). However it won't necessarily be evenly weighted. Some guys just sell better than others so we need to make more of them." So this means the distribution could be almost as terrible as it is now, but not quite. A case could have 1 Bret, 1 DBryan, 1 HHH, and 5 Cenas. "Some guys just sell better than others" - sure, but the wave of Cenas rivals the soul-crushing evil of the Arctic Destros which still rot the pegs at Targets nationwide - and helped make GI Joe distribution pathetic. So far we have two camo pants Cenas - Basic 18 and BP 17. If Mattel makes 8 more versions of that, like they did with red Cena, they are friggin idiots.

It does seem a bit strange that for BAF waves, they don't include equal amount of every figure(?) Hopefully it'll be a bit better than last time though. It's sad to hear that there won't be a new Entrance Greats or Defining Moments type line for collectors... I loved these figures. At least Mattel tried though - obviously the market isn't there for them at retail...

Additional tooling? Cody Rhodes' jacket! Haven't thought of this, but that would be sick!! Tooling usually deals with a sculpted or molded item. I'm not sure I'd like a rubber or plastic jacket. edit: sorry about that eastcoastkody, I see you already clarified tooling.

Great read and sounds very encouraging for the near future of figures. Looking forward to elite 16 and wm 28 set. Thanks for posting.

I'm impressed if they can get WM 28 out before the end of this year. I think the new tooling is Undertaker's head scan and he will sell enough to have loads of figures to advertise on TRU Big Book. Hope he has his awesome entrance gear and will be a great commemorative piece for his 20th win streak. So that's going to be 8 figures in the WM lines and I think it will be Punk, Jericho, Rock, Cena, Orton, HHH, Big Show & Kane. They actually get the WM set out every year by about august-september. So its not some huge accomplishment to get it out by the end of the year. I am glad it will only be 4 of each plus one extra elite as that will save the completeist in me some money...lol
