Hi, can anyone answer this really soon, I'm on my way to the comic book store, and I was wondering what issue of The Walking Dead I should pick up. I don't want one that they have already had the story on the TV series and I don't want one that is in the middle of a story and I'll be confused. So with issue should I pick up? Please answer soon. Will give 5 karma point things. Thank you.

I'm thinking of getting #97. Is that a good one?

Is that a DC book? Start at the new 52 #1 and you wont miss anything. Dc restarted everything from The beginning again so you won't miss anything

I would start from the beginning, the show and the comic aren't exactly the same things, they have some different characters and different things have happened in each.
If you really don't want to start from the beginning, then start at the prison stuff which I think is around issue 13. Don't start at issue 97 because you would have pretty much no idea what is happening.

Thanks so much! +5 I just finished season 2 and I can't wait until October for more Walking Dead, so I figured I'd read the book.

I mean, there are trades you can get instead of the individual issues.

I'll definitely get the trades in the near future. Rick is missing a hand?!

If you are getting into it because of the TV show you might be disappointed with the Comic. It moves at a better pace but the overall story just moves in circles as everyone slowly dies and you really never get like anyone so as they die you care less and less.
Ricks hand is connected to the prison arc and you really should start from the beginning because there are many more characters in the comic and the order of their deaths are different.
