I never understood why it take you 5 minutes to climb a ladder when nobody is in or around the ring, but then when someone is trying to get up it as well it takes you 5 seconds to get to the top.

Putting your feet on ropes to get a three count when in reality it would make it easier for them to kick out

When in a submission and the wrestler is right next to the ropes, why does it take him so long to reach out, when all he has to do is stretch his arm out?

Years later and I'm still confused That belongs in the "I remember when..." thread lol Here's one: If joint locks take seconds to do damage and blood chokes can make someone pass out in 15 to 25 seconds why does it take so long for sleeperholds, armbars and other holds to work?

Ring ropes are basic none elastic rope attached to a metal hook with no springs attached.....so why is it when you're whipped into them, you spring right off?

Why would you carry on running when someone Irish whips you? Ring ropes are basic none elastic rope attached to a metal hook with no springs attached.....so why is it when you're whipped into them, you spring right off? If you've ever hit a set of ropes, you'd understand. They do spring you off.

What makes you spring off them lol

I always thought the same before I started wrestling training. They are literally rope with tape wrapped around them, or some ropes are cable. But with your momentum running at them, if you hit them right, they'll spring you off. I don't know what else to say, but yeah, they do.

If the match is a "no rules/no disqualification", why not bring a gun? LOL! if only Pillman had been around for the whole Attitude Era!

There's not elastic in the ropes...there's not springs in the turnbuckles. What makes you spring off them lol Tension. It is basic physics. If you pull something tight enough, when pushed or pulled it will snap back with equal force. Examples include: Medieval crossbows have no springs or elastic, yet with enough tension you could send a bolt through someone 40 yards away. Guitar strings vibrate when plucked. Slow down a video of one and you will see that this non-elastic metal string moves back and forth based on the amount of pressure used to move it the first time.

In battle royals/Royal Rumbles, when guys pair off against the ropes, why do they put one of their opponent's legs on the top rope and then struggle for 45 seconds to lift the other leg? And why does the opponent stand there and let him try? Why not just fall down, since you can't lose when you're on the canvas?
When someone punches Hulk Hogan and he makes the first facial expression for "Hulking up," why do they continue punching him, slowly, one punch at a time? Haven't they ever seen a Hulk Hogan match?
Why, after the mid-80s or so, did Ric Flair continue trying to jump off the top rope onto his opponents? It ended badly almost every single time. Wasn't the world champ smart enough to see that and change strategies?
Why would a babyface ever accept a heel's invitation for a handshake or a test of strength? Does being a good guy = being a gullible person?
Considering their entire job is to be vigilant about enforcing the rules of an athletic contest, why are pro wrestling referees the most easily distracted people in the world? You could tag your partner, get your hair pulled, or use a foreign object within arm's length of the referee's face and he won't see it, but if your manager hops onto the apron on the other side of the ring, they'll immediately ignore the match to go argue with them for two minutes.
And don't they think it's odd that after a two-minute argument with a manager, when they finally turn their attention back to the wrestlers, one of them is unconscious and the other is going for a pin?

Something that's never made sense;
When someone returns the commentators are always like "OH MY GOD" when they would have seen them in the dressing rooms and backstage.

Things that make no sense in wrestling? Like 90% of the stuff they do. Wrestling is something that you've got to watch and not give much thought to what they are doing. It's like martial arts movies where the guys is surrounded by 10 guys and they proceed to get beat up individually when in reality they would all ambush him and destroy him. Without giving too much thought to it though you just go "oh yeah I could see him doing that."

When the bad guys are hatching their evil secret plot, they dont notice the camera crew standing right next to them filming their evil secret plot to be broadcast to the whole world.
When someone gets a title shot just because he and the champ dont like each other, even though there are other people who have been winning loads of matches and they should probably have a title shot by now.
When some people have a re-match clause but others seem to get rematch after rematch regardless and then others only get one match.

Guy jumps off top rope and lands on another guy. He's fine and can go for the pin.
Guy jumps off top rope and lands on canvas. He does the dead sell.
Now you tell me what would hurt worse...landing on a person or landing on a mat?
