I'm watching Shawn's My Journey DVD. It gets to the RR 98' match, seen it before, no big but this time....
The lights drop, his music starts, Kane comes out and I think this.....
If him coming out was a surprise, how would they know to drop the lights and hit his music?
To keep this thread going, name things that make no sense to you about wrestling.

Well back then it was made to look like Kane and Taker had "super powers" in a way. Remember the whole segment where Kane was hitting random things with lightening? So that could easily be how the lights went out but i have no clue how to make an excuse for the music.
Something that never made sense to me was how a guy could go to lift someone like Andre, Yoko, Big Show, etc. minutes into the match and they would have their back go out or they would fall back before completing the move and yet 10-15 mins later after the match has been going on and the guy is tired and what not the guy can miraculously pull off the move with the greatest of ease.

If you are the world heavyweight champion, why not intentionally lose by DQ or Count out every match?
Do you really need to do 7 twists and a backflip in the air to hit a splash on someone? Just step on them

Never thought about that. Lol I understand WHY they do it, overcoming the odds and what not..... but it doesn't make logical sense.

Just step on them I guess you could say that the twist/flips cause more momentum but in reality your right. And while we're on the topic. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU CLIMB SOMETHING SO DAMN HIGH AND JUMP ONTO SOMEONE! Lol seriously who in their right mind would think if they were trying to beat someone would think "hey let me climb this thing right here and jump onto that guy".

I was watching a match a few days ago and as a guy was getting swung into the ropes......
Why not do something to stop yourself? Fall down maybe?
Also, and this applies more so to TNA...... why would a camera be on you backstage for just a random conversation?

Hogan's leg drop = end of the match
Everyone else's leg-drop = barely a 2 count?

Hogan's leg drop = end of the match Everyone else's leg-drop = barely a 2 count? AMEN! The only leg drop that should even come close to ending a match is that sweet ass one that Kenny Dykstra used to do. And BTW don't even get me started on that damn People's Elbow.

The announcers have monitors at their desk....even though they have the best seats in the house

I'd assume its so that they dont comment on something that the viewer at home doesnt see. How come Randy Orton can RKO someone on an announce table and the thing doesnt even budge and yet Rock Bottoms, Pedigrees, etc. break the tables.

There are a lot of finishers that don't make sense. Cena's AA being one of them. Ok, so you drop the guy on their back? Those guys hit their backs all match long... Moves like Sweet Chin Music, Stone Cold Stunner, Cross Rhodes or dare I say it?...... Benoit's head butt, those make sense as does a submission finisher.

I'm going to really hurt my opponent now. I will drive him through a plywood table. In reality, the plywood table softens the blow, it would hurt more if you dropped the bastard on concrete.
HHH with the sledgehammer! Why is his hand covering the metal part of it when he hits the dude!

If you hear Shawn Michaels stomping his foot to prep for Sweet Chin Music, why not roll out of the ring?
Why do wrestlers celebrate like they won the title when the match ended in a count-out or DQ?
Why does it take some wrestlers 3 minutes to climb a 15 foot ladder?
Shouldn't a suplex hurt the backs of both wrestlers?
If the match is a "no rules/no disqualification", why not bring a gun?

Why doesnt anyone grab their opponent and choke them to the count of 4 and then quickly let go, choke them until a count of 4, quickly let go, choke them till a count of 4 and then let go....eventually the guy will pass out and you can pin him in like 2 minutes.

I know why, but why wouldn't you do your finisher at the beginning of a match? Also, why do you jump over a guy after he irish whips you and then ducks/falls to the mat. Why was a camera man at the Orton/HHH house fight?

why standing on somebody with both feet illegal? its not choking, and they usually aren't on the ropes.

This reminds me of warriors return to save hogan from Sid and shango at mania. Warrior had been gone for A bit and made a surprise return. But yet his music played? Funniest part was in the wwf magazine they wrote an article where a staffer said he saw warrior running by backstage towards the ring and it was instinct to hit his music. Lol loved in character publications back then.
