I was trolling. But really, these stores, not just TRU, never clean up under the shelves. How hard is it to do a quick sweep? I don't think it's just stashers most of the toys down there are from sloppy customers who drop toys on the floor and kick them under because they're too lazy to bend down. I remember scoring some Joes when there were none on the pegs. Well the case I have seen at TRUs and @spam will answer your question, the bottom shelves at TRU and Target have black barriers beaneth the bottom shelevs so nothing can be kicked underneath it. The bottom shelves usually have big box items like wrestling rings, play sets, etc. A lot times you have to lay them down or move them out of the way, grab the edge and lift up diagonally..I once found a bunch of CSDA Lugers and Scott Halls

lol i cant believe security dont ever see people hiding or looking for stuff under the shelfs like that. if you hide things under them u are a bum. if you dont have the money for them or cant decide if you want it than hiding it from someone else that has the money and may have been looking all over for that figure is wrong. that could be holding up that store getting new stock in. with mattels already crappy distribution this just makes it even worse

I don't know how to look under the shelves... is there like a board or something I need to move? just lift the front lip, obviously its a pain if product is on it but they arent bolted down or anything they are just locked in the back so its easy to just lift them.

Good to know. My TRU hasn't been getting new stock in a while, when they used to be so good for it. Wonder if the bottom shelves have treasures to be offered up.

Years ago a scalper used to do this at the TRU near me. The Manager caught on and checked under the shelves and displays so there is nothing hidden under there anymore. Interestingly enough when TRU started using flex-ties to seal the overhead areas they used to use for storage the scalper started to use those. I found some cut flex ties on the floor and showed the manager who cut the ones off the shelf and found all the best figures stashed. How he found the time to hide them between the staff sweeps we had no idea. Manager finally caught him doing it and banned him.

Cool story. I know this trick and always check under the shelves. Even in other aisles. Wish I could find an Elite Ryder like that. Actually haven't found any good Elites that way but have found plenty of good GI Joes hidden away.

I was at a store the other day and i looked through all of the 2-packs (about 7 of them) which were Cena & Rock, Del Rio & Big Show & Orton & Christian then at the back found Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga!

ALWAYS have to check for those cursed hiders. I must admit tho, I do hide, for maybe a day or two, but this is why I hide way beyond the WWE section.

i worked at walmart for a few years and at one point, i was getting bored with being a cashier, so i brought up the discussion with the boss that if possible i would like a change of scenery. "well i cud put ya in toys?" there was no "toy dept" associate at my walmart for a while coz apparently no one could handle the constant upkeeping. "yeah i actually love toys, ill do it."
my first day there was dubbed treasure hunt day because i was unearthing hidden toys for MULTIPLE years past. there were figs that got kicked under the shelves and were grimey and dusty, figs stashed ALL OVER the place. i found a few "nests" on the bottom shelves. apparently the stashers would build up walls of large items on the bottom, like the wrestling rings, so at a glance it just looked like a stack of rings, BUT on the inside of those little walls, they would hide the most desired figures. i remember one day finding 3 or 4 stashed CS Diesel figs.

What shelves do you guys mean? I don't know of any place that figures could be hidden at the stores I go to. Anyone have a picture or something?
*Ah, someone did explain, missed the posts on page 2.

Yeah back when the very first set of WM Elites came out (w/Swagger, Rey as Avatar, HHH & Taker) this kid, who had to be around 10 years old grabs a HHH & a Taker. He was with his family but they didn't see him take them. Well a few minutes later, I heard his dad telling him to get what he wanted and let's go. So the kid comes back around, no HHH & Taker, and decides to take the Taker I just had in my hands and was going to buy, but put down on the shelf for a minute. I was pissed. WTF did he do with the other 2 figures? F*cking slimy little bastard. I disagree with hiding figures. If you're not going to buy them, don't do it. Cause I'd bet at least 85% of the time no one comes back for them. I hide figures all the time, and I've NEVER not went back for one I hid. There have been a couple occasions when I went back and they were gone, but it generally pans out. Once in a while, life happens. You don't have the money for a couple days, etc... Oddly enough, I only found the Road Warriors 3 times ever, and hid them both each time (coincidentally never having the $ for them when I found them) and all 3 times someone else must have found them cause they were always gone. It's the price you pay for hiding the figures, but it's a risk I'm willing to take once in a while.
