This topic may or may not have done before but it is to decide who YOU think is THE wrestler of the 1990s.
If you choose "other" then please specify who you choose and why.
Let's have fun!
My vote: Bret Hart
Next!

Other - Hulk Hogan
He came into the 90's as the top dog in the 80's, passed the torch to Warrior, and took the torch back. As Vince kept trying to move away from Hogan, he continually had to go back to him, until Hogan decided to leave, thus creating a dark age for the WWF, as Hogan headed to WCW and created another boom period with the NWO.
Nobody comes close to being the Wrestler of the 90's.
Sorry I just noticed Hogan is on the ballot.

Austin. I rank Taker, HBK, and Bret before him, but there is no doubt he is THE wrestler of the 90s.

It's GOT to be Bret Hart, he was the top guy in the company from 92 to the very end of 97, it's pretty much the entire 90s. It doesn't matter what event you go to, Bret had match of the night every time he performed, he could have a great match with anyone, be it Diesel, Hakushi, Yokozuna, Steve Austin or Isaac Yankem. The majority of great matches from the 90s that spring to mind are Bret Hart matches. At least moreso than anyone else. Bret isn't only the superstar of the 90s, he's the superstar of all time. At his peak in popularity he is second to only Hogan.
Although Austins prominence started right at the end of the 90s, and IMO is a star of the 00s. Hogan is more an 80s star than anything else, and Vince was trying to move away from the 80s during the 90s. The Rock is really a case of being a 00s star. Diesel, Shawn and Undertaker were always second fiddle at the most, during Diesel's run, Bret was still the guy, same with Shawn and Undertaker.
Hogan, Bret and Austin are the only legitimate faces of the company during the 90s.

Bret...
in the 90's he won:
1 Royal Rumble 1 King of the Ring 1 WWF Tag Team Championship 2 WWF Intercontinental Championships 5 WWF World Championships 1 WCW Tag Team Championship 4 WCW United States Championships 2 WCW World Championships
he also main evented 3 WrestleMania's and 1 Starrcade, each company's respective "Big Event" ,and also held the WWF World Championship for 654 days , the most time of anyone in the 90's. he was also named #1 in the PWI 500 for 2 consecutive years (1993 and 1994). and he created one of the best and most hated stable in WWF (and wrestling) history, the Hart Foundation 1997. all this in addition to the numerous great matches he had with Steve Austin, Razor Ramon,Randy Savage, Mr. Perfect,Bam Bam Bigelow,Kevin Nash,Owen Hart, British Bulldog,Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, etc. , not to mention his position as the #1 guy in the WWF on a consistent basis after Hulk Hogan's departure.
when i think of the WWF in the late 90's,and THE star of the late 90's,i think of Steve Austin. when i think of THE star for the ENTIRE 90's, i think of Bret Hart.

Bret actually won the 1991 King Of The Ring too! Wasn't Bret vs Austin considered a co-main event?

Hart - Austin was never advertised as a co-main event or anything like that ....

Bret's accomplishments are great for the 90s but one could argue that a lot of it (not all) came at a really bad time in wrestling as it was a "transitional...some would say dead period" of wrestling where it wasnt as popular as it was in the 80s or would be in the later 90s. Taking away both WCW accomplishments (since it was seen as the #2 company)...Bret and Austin run neck and neck with their accomplishments. It would really all depend on how you feel the business was being viewed/ran at the time of their heights.

Id say Taker. He had the most longevity and was always a top star.

Steve Austin
He was the top star/draw at a time when the WWF was at its highest level of popularity.

I'd have to say Bret Hart or Hulk Hogan. Bret's resume, as mikey1974 posted, is filled with pretty much everything you can accomplish in wrestling and he pretty much spent the entire decade doing so. I don't count his time in WCW as a negative towards him because he should have been the top guy in WCW but they were filled with a bunch of egotistical, retards of the wrestling business that had no idea what they were doing with him. Even with those 2+ years of WCW royally fudging up the booking of Hart I'd give it to him.
Hogan was at the top of the WWF in the early 90s and the WWF was on top. He was the top dog as far as bringing in the fans. Now whether or not those fans could stay awake for one of his matches is a different story. He left and went to WCW and if I recall correctly, I believe it was Bischoff who said the whole Hulkamania thing wasn't really working well but once they started NWO he was back on top of the wrestling world for the next 2 years basically. Some might give it to him but honestly I think the guy is the most overrated wrestler of all time and couldn't wrestle a good match to save his life so I just can't put him above Bret and if it wasn't for the reasons I'm about to list for Austin and HBK he wouldn't be above them either.
Austin is definitely a bigger star than Bret in terms of taking the company to heights never before seen but he was just there for 2-3 years of the 90s. He's just in a bad spot chronologically. If you take the top guy from the decade of 96-05 then it's Austin by far.
Shawn Michaels is, to me, the greatest superstar of all time but I just can't put him above Bret due to Bret being the guy for longer. Shawn's resume is just about as good as Bret's. He won the Rumble. He won every belt you could win in the 90s. He never did win the KOTR though. And he really took off in 92-93 and went until 98 so that's 5 years of the decade where he either wasn't there or hadn't been a main guy yet.

I dont think a lot of people realize what Austin accomplished compared to Harts stats....Harts stats (compiled by Mikey above)
Bret Hart 1 Royal Rumble 2 King of the Ring 1 WWF Tag Team Championship 2 WWF Intercontinental Championships 5 WWF World Championships 1 WCW Tag Team Championship 4 WCW United States Championships 2 WCW World Championships
Steve Austin 2 Royal Rumble 1 King of the Ring 3 WWF Tag Team Champion 2 WWF Intercontinental Champion 4 WWF World Champion 2 WCW Television Champion 2 WCW United States Champion 1 WCW Tag Team Champion
Austin, by numbers, was more accomplished then Bret in the 90s. Also it could be noted that Austin was also the 1990 Rookie of the Year. Makes you wonder what Austin was capable of if he had a few years under his belt like Hart did.
