I've seen this discussed here a little bit but couldn't find it. Anybody know why the Basic 16 WMH Triple H figure doesn't have "The Game" logo on it? Something about a lawsuit with some rapper?
I got the new WWE magazine and there was a picture of Triple H from WM2000 and he had the logo completely blacked out on the front of his trunks for some reason, which made me think of this.

I didn't know about the lawsuit. But the rapper GAME is a pretty big name so I wouldn't doubt it. Seems like WWE would have trademarked that name well before GAME (the rapper) did though.

This is new to me, that's quite interesting.

If I recall WWE tried to trademark it and was told they could not. There was also a standing claim from the NCAA over the phrase, so when the rapper was allowed to file a trademark the WWE/HHH tried to sue.

I remember hearing about this when the figure was released. Would love to hear the full story if anyone knows more about it!

I never even hearb of a rapper called the Game. Then again I agree with Curt Hennig and the West Texas Redneck's that "Rap is Cr@p" ;D

While i do remember The Game ( the rapper) having a lawsuit filed against him by the WWE in mid 2006, i seem to recall the rapper lost and he since changed/shortened the name to just Game. So i don't think that's the reason for the omission on the figures. Might be some other reason, though.

I will have to check the figure out now. I picked up Take, Eddie and Warrior at Walmart this week. I had no intention of buying HHH or Cena. I am glad the WWE decided to put some Legends figures in these Heritage series. There would really not be a reason to buy most of them since it is the same people over and over.

I was very happy as well. If they had done a legends basic and legends elite line I wonder how much better the Legends banner would have held up at retail. I hate that they already axed Heritage, but in the past the heritage sets were a great time for me to save money because they were always modern taker, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, and Randy Orton.

I continue to be amazed by "big business". The words "the" and "game" are being fought over? HOW THE F$CK can anybody justify trademarking and (legal) battling over such common words. This world is so screwed up when we are just wasting money on lawsuits over "the" & "game"

Is it possible they can't use "The Game" in merchandise or magazines because of a of that movie "The Game" starring Michael Douglas. It came out in 1997, Triple H started using that name in Late '99 early 2000. Wouldn't be the first time WWE used a pre existing name (ahem... WWF!)

Its different contexts though. The Game movie is different from The Game rap artist and The Game wrestler nick name. Like right now there's Lex Luger the wrestler and Lex Luger the rap producer. Its different industries so the producer is allowed to use it, unless the wrestler has filed a cease and desist order.

I guess it is kind of like the difference between, Iron Man- the Marvel Character, Iron Man- the hit song from Black Sabbath, and Iron Man- the Oreck canister vacuum. I just can't imagine why Triple can't be shown the "The Game" written on his attire. Doesn't matter to me. If I could get a Triple H figure with his "hHh" logo I'll be thrilled.
