Missed both games today. Was at work during the Netherlands - Denmark game, and watched Argentina v Brazil ( ing quality, by the way) instead of Germany - Portugal. Looking forward to tomorrow's games, though.

Holland were very wastefull but Denmark did well to knick the goal and hold on to the one goal they had. Agger and his CB partner were brilliant. Sniedjer was a joy to watch, he could just ping a pass to anyone on the pitch. Germany vs. Portugal was a let down. Decent bits here and there but pretty lackluster. Glad that Germany got the win, as I got them to go all the way. They gotta play better if they want to win the tourney though. EDIT: Thought this was quite cool: www.marca.com/deporte/futbol/eurocopa/2012/goles4d.html

The Dutch looked like they didn't care. RVP looked shattered, Robben was awful, Sneijder was the only decent player. Germany-Portugal sucked, but I can see Portugal getting through rather than Holland now.

Only watched Fridays games so far. Poland were very impressive in the first 30 mins but they sat back and Greece got the draw. Referee was a joke.
Russia were really good, but the Czechs were awful so we'll see how Russia go. Doesn't look like I missed a great deal yesterday.
It's all about Ireland today!

I think Italy were better than Spain. Pirlo De Rossi Chilleni and (when he came on) Di Natale were all class. Apart from Casillas and Iniesta Spain were average.

Spain should start Llorente in the next game. 6 in midfield is good for keeping possession but they went nowhere with it. Torres is continuing to underachieve but Llorente had a good season.
Don't really have any hopes for Ireland now as Croatia was the most winnable game. Still gonna be rooting for them to do something to Spain or Italy as you never know if or when a big tournament upset will happen.
Germany was my logical pick to win it all, as they always are. So I still have them to rely on.

So annoyed with Ireland, obviously we started bad I taught we would win it at 1-1. However goals where way too soft, the third was a unlucky one,but we were crap in general. Why oh why do we continue to kick long balls up to Robbie and Kevin, they are too small to dominate in the air. Also why the feck was Cox on the pitch, ah well no Quaters for us now, might get a draw with Italy. However I am scared of what Spain will do to us!

Two good games today. The first half of Spain vs Italy was pretty poor, however the second half were fantastic. Thought Italy were going to get something out of it (my prediction was actually 1-1), and they were by far the better team. Some of the worst tactics I have ever seen, in Spain playing 4-6-0. And should have played Llorente instead of Torres.
Republic of Ireland v Croatia also went like I expected. Croatia has a vastly superior squad to Ireland's, and were just too good for them. Predicted before the tournament Ireland would go out without getting a single point, and I still stand by that. They have a team that is full of average players, whereas Croatia have some superb players (Modric, Mandzukic, Rakitic, Jelavic and Perisic looks class, as well).

Spain not having any striker was odd, really effected them in the final third. Italy looked decent enough, both teams should go through. Ireland didn't seem that good but made up for it with enthusiasm. Sadly Croatia were ther better team and deserved the win. I kinda wanted Ireland to do an underdog surge into the next round but at best I can see them getting a lucky draw of Italy and thats about it.

Cesc is complaining the pitch was to blame for Spain drawing Not surprised Spain started without a striker, there was a lot of talk about Silva being a Messi-esque false 9 before the game. Think they'll stick with it for their next 2 matches. Ireland were rubbish, doubt they'll get a point.

Confirmed England line-up v France: Hart; Johnson, Terry, Lescott, Cole; Milner, Parker, Gerrard (c), Oxlade-Chamberlain; Young; Welbeck.
Dunno why Milner is playing ahead of Wallcott. I understand that he'll give some cover when Johnson goes and attacks, but Walcott would terrorise a defensively-weak Evra, forcing him onto the back foot. By playing Milner we're basically letting Evra attack us (the best part of his game) rather than forcing him to defend (a much weaker part of his game).

the first goal in the Ireland - Croatia game was hilarious, such a weak header and it goes through ...
I have my money on an England win today, I guess 1-0
EDIT: so much for England winning 1-0 :/

If you'd've offered me 1-1 at the start of the day I would've taken it. We matched them for 60 minutes, with players generally doing what was asked of them. I thought Johnson was better than usual. I thought France didn't play up to their full talent. Off this I think we should qualify for the Quarters, and that's all anyone is really asking.

I don't agree with populer opinion. I thought we were pretty rubbish today. We defended well and kept them at bay, but made absolutely no effort to actually win the game. Thought Cabaye and Debuchy were on another level.

Suprised Roy started Ox, he looked good. England did play decent enough. Parker was immense as always and I thought Young and Welbeck played their roles well. Because of the tactics England did allow France to come onto them. England should go through the groups by keeping clean sheets. If either Sweden or Ukraine score against them then I don't know if they'll score again.
Ukraine vs. Sweden was a good second half. Both main strikers playing thier parts in getting goals. Ukraine seemed the better team.

Russia have been given a suspended 6 points deduction from their 2016 Euro qualifying campaign due to the violence before the Russia-Poland game.

Russia have been given a suspended 6 points deduction from their 2016 Euro qualifying campaign due to the violence before the Russia-Poland game. Wow damn! I can't believe the Netherlands are almost out already, Portugal and Germany should go through now but I was relying on the Portugese and Dutch to knock Germany out in the group stage, that would've been handy!
