omfg Liger you and your wife are two of the best customizers I have ever seen the work of. I just got done watching Flair and Steamboat's trilogy of matches last night, and dammit this is perfect! I would suggest, however, that you use the short kneepads that came with Nikolai Volkoff (the one with Iron Sheik in the Legends Two pack), as well as usingthe Elite 15 Evan Bourne's legs on The Elite 10 ted Dibiase (green variant) crotch piece. This is all significantly complicated to do, but you'll require cracking the steamboat torso, putting it on the Dibiase crotch piece, and splitting the Bourne crotch piece and putting it onto the Dibiase crotch piece as well. The reason it's so complicated is because the Tatsu figure has the wrong shade of green. Evan Bourne has the perfect shade of green as well as the perfect torso; but his tights have the weird belt thingy sculpted onto them. Dibiase has the "normal" tights mold, but they're the short trunks that he wears. A such, you'll have to put the Steamboat torso and Bourne legs onto the Dibiase crotch piece. There's a great thread on here, stickied on the customs board, I think, that details a step by step process for doing it all. If it's too complicated for you, or If you just don't have any spares to practice on; contact the 1Dean70. he's a member on here, the guy who sells the CM Punk decal tattoos. You can mail him all the parts and he will put the figure together for you for a very minimal charge. Ofcourse, I've suggested all the above only if you want to have your figures look as factory made as possible, like I do. Your work, as stand alone pieces, look absolutely amazing. They'll just integrate better with a whole Mattel collection if you did what I suggested. Again, great effing work, these are just too perfect!

Thank you for the kind words. I'll look for that stickied thread for sure. My impression was that cracking open the torso to replace the crotch resulted in a waist that would no longer move but I would love to be wrong about that. I'm not sure about using Volkoff's short kneepads because Flair's were huge in comparison: However this may be one of those things where less actual accuracy produces a more accurate impression at this small scale. (Maybe similar to how designs on figure t-shirts typically are bigger relative to the shirt than they are IRL. Though why most figure shirts fit like ponchos, I'll never understand, but that's neither here nor there.) Thank you to everyone for the feedback.

Awesome work on the Brock. I agree that the mouth may look a little weird, but that would be the only negative thing about it.

Having been to your site, you should definitely post all the steps you take when making a figure. I loved reading all the alterations and custom work that you did on the Flair and Steamboat. Extraordinary work. Can't wait to see more.

how did you make the plastic for the brock lesnar packaging You need a thermoforming machine. You won't want to google that term, however, since you'll get mostly expensive industrial machines. Google "hobby vacuum former" instead. You can also try eBay using that same search term. To make Brock's packaging, I had to thermoform a logo I had sculpted and placed on a cross-section of pvc pipe. It was a very difficult process and I wasted a lot of plastic sheets in the process.

Extraordinary work. Can't wait to see more. We might do some in-progress and tutorial type articles in the future. I just enjoy the work so much that it's hard for me to stop and take pictures or do write-ups until it's all done If anyone has specific technical questions, I'll continue to try to answer as best I can here, however.

That is incredible . How do you shrink heads ?? Wtf The first step is to dremel out a bunch of small holes on the inside of the head. Then I used a heat gun to get the head very hot, just under the point where I thought it would start to blister. At that point, I squished the head in my hands as hard as I could (yes, I burned my hands). You're left with a very deformed head, BUT a very intact face, just smaller looking. I sculpted away large portions of the back of his head, nose, and jaw (which was way too big to begin with) until the head size matched the face size. Then all that's left is to resculpt the hair, mouth, and other minor sculpting touchups before painting. It was not easy and if I do it again, I'll have the good sense to cast the head afterward for future use (I don't plan on doing another Brock on that scale again). The aforementioned process is not possible with Mattel parts because the plastic used is less malleable (even when hot) and has "memory", which Jakks does not appear to. E.g.: If you heat up and reshape/reposition a Mattel hand--even if you clamp it for a week--after a week outside of the clamp it will go back to its old shape. If you hit it with a heat gun or hot water, it'll go back to its original shape immediately. It took a bunch of ruined parts to figure this out There is another way to shrink parts which I haven't had great luck with but I know other people have gotten good results. There's a type of silicone you can cast with that will shrink by I think 30%-50% depending on how it's mixed. Google "shrinking rubber reduce it" for an example of this type of product. I hope this helps.
