B.J. Penn Vs. Rory MacDonald Targeted For UFC 152 UFC president Dana White announced last night following UFC on FX: Johnson vs. McCall that B.J. Penn will indeed be coming out of retirement to face Rory MacDonald and that he'll be doing so at UFC 152 this September. Penn announced his retirement following a unanimous decision loss to Nick Diaz this past October, but started warming up to the idea of returning over the past few months. MacDonald respectfully called Penn out in a few interviews and it was enough to stoke The Prodigy's fire and prompt him to accept the challenge. The bout has been verbally agreed to, but not officially signed. Before losing to Diaz, Penn fought Jon Fitch to a draw and knocked out Matt Hughes in welterweight bouts. Since suffering his only professional loss to Carlos Condit in 2010, MacDonald has gone on a three-fight run that includes wins over Nate Diaz, Mike Pyle and Che Mills. The 22-year-old Tristar Gym product was on a ten-fight run before meeting Condit. UFC 152 is scheduled to take place on September 22 at a currently unknown arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. www.fightline.com/fl/news/2012/0609/548901/bj-penn/

horrible fight...
a HUGE WW vs. an average LW/chubby WW
I just can't help but think Rory will do the same thing to BJ that he did to Nate....
BJ's biggest opening will be that first round...he is always a beast in the first round.

He shouldn't be fighting at 170 anymore.

Far be it for me to count out BJ, but Rory is......well....Rory. Mini GSP.

Wow, don't think I agree with BJ accepting MacDOnald's challenge, the guy is fantastic...BJ should rethink this.

I love BJ so I'm just pleased to see him fighting again. I really wish he'd go back to 155 though...

Ahh BJ.....out of all the fights you had to choose from as your return fight you pick this one.
I'm seeing an absolute destruction of BJ Penn by Rory MacDonald and theres nothing changing my mind about that.

If BJ is motivated, he can beat anyone.

Apparently, the plan is for the Dos Santos/Velasquez rematch to headline the card.

I love BJ but I don't think it matters what BJ shows up for this, Rory MacDonald is an animal. I wish BJ would go back to 155 as there a lot of interesting match-ups there and he can still make an impact there.

A 20 year old kid against a man with as much experience as Penn makes me want to bet my money on Penn. (If he doesn't slack in his camp)
