honestly though, what is there to ask? i can barely think of anything
1) keep the RA scale 2) try to start a CS-style series 3) keep realscan heads/realistic, chunky, detailed body sculpts
what else is there? there's no point asking "can you make [this guy or that guy]" cos they won't be planning lineups yet and WWE's roster will change a lot in the next 2 years. i doubt they will be thinking of any playsets other than a ring. accessories don't take much planning either so i doubt they'll be thinking of that now.
i dunno, i'm struggling to think of much to say besides those 3 fundimentally important ones.
i doubt they'll be listening to us really. unfortunetely, i feel pretty sure they'll change the scale, like toybiz did. even though it makes no sense. new collectors/kids will buy them whatever the scale, but Jakks collectors (like us) will only buy them if they are the same scale. but like i say, I'm sure Mattel is just as arrogant as toybiz in keeping to their old-fashioned, spindley, undetailed 5-6 inch scale...
and they'll be focusing on kids too much, so the figures will be cheap, undetailed sculpts by the horrendus "talents" that did the batman begins figures... and badly painted...
yep, the glass is half empty...

I don't know what the issue is with the scale, because even if they are the same height as RA Figures, they'll still be made completely differently so they wont play right together anyway.

I'd love to see greater detail,.. full detail if you will. With modern technology the tatoos Jakks put on wrestlers are a disgrace, I wouldnt mind paying more for a better product.

let's just hope the Mattel reps get acquainted with all the slang around here... and fast!
like, if we all start typing "RA" this, "CS" that, "DA" this, "BoWM" that and whatever else there is, i hope they'll be able to keep up.
otherwise, it might be a waste of time. hahaha... i can just picture people going,...
"umm. sir, 'RA' stands for 'Ruthless Aggression'" etc... haha

Exactly my point. Thank you. If they're the same height then they can't be completely different unless they go for a caricature/cartoon style which seems unlikely these days as those would only really appeal to kids. Jakks' figures are supposed to be realistic so if Mattel make them realistic and the same height then they will match well enough to display together. Mattel's existing figures use nearly the exact same POA as RAs and DAs so they won't be much different. I'm almost certain Mattel will keep things as similar as possible as they know the huge market is already there so they can either continue existing formulas and have an instant huge fanbase or they can spend loads of time and money developing a completely new formula and then have to build up a market from scratch. The only way Mattel can guarantee keeping the entire collector market is to continue with higher quality, more realistic figures that are better but not completely different to what Jakks have done. I'm sure they're more than capable and I'm almost positive that they will do that because that's how they will make the most money.

I am very curious to see what they have to say. Hopefully it will be more informative than the interview that jerky did with WF. Seems like he was really avoiding answering anything. I tell you this man. I have been pretty harsh lately concerning Jakks and Jeremy, but one thing I will say is that the guy does provide us with a good forum to vent and suggest. And it seems like he does try hard to listen and give us what we ask for. Hope we get something or someone like that with Mattell, but somehow I doubt we will.

This just pisses me off. You have NO CLUE as to what Mattel will be doing. Whats stopping them from doing a detailed line for collectors and a cartoony line for kids? hell, isn't jakks doing that now anyways? Undetailed Sculpts? were already getting that now. I'm getting sick of all this crap Mattel is getting from people before one ing proto has been shown. People keep making this stupid claim that what Mattel does for the Batman line or for Barbie is what Mattel will do for WWE. Jakks has how many different properties under contract? and has the WWE line ever suffered once because of them? No. Give Mattel a chance to see what series 1 will look like. I'd rather Mattel gather some info now to make the right choice on how to launch the line from fans, then have them release series 1 with no input what so ever. As for this scale stuff. Every company has their own scale they want to use. Even if there the same height, the whole body will be different so it won't really look good with a Jakks figure. I hope Mattel does their own scale, one that will make the figures better then what Jakks has given us over the last few years.

What i want from mattel is more variety not the same 6 figs in every series. They should have a RAW series Smackdown series and then PPV series. 2-packs and classics. Thats all I need to ask for. Dont think we will see any of that. Mattel will spell the end of collecting for me. I really hope im wrong. I love collecting wrestling figs and ive spent thousends over the years. If they are the 1st to release a Santino Marella then ill prob continue collecting jakks are too slow developing new talent into figs. Anyone else agree/disagree?

there gonna listen to the people who will definately be purchasing the figures which is good, as were the ones who will be most critical of anything they produce and know what a good figure is and what isnt!.

As some said, there are only a few questions that can be asked so early in the game. These would be mine:
Will they maintain the 6-7 inch scale? Will the figures be designed to look realistic or cartoony? Will we have around as many sets per year released as JAKKS (at least one set a month or a set every other month)? Will there be a classic line? Will the figures feature high points of articulation?
That's pretty much all I can think of. No use in saying anything about headscans, attires, blah blah because it's so far away.
