I'm not sure how it differs from dub or drum and bass, but assuming it's all similar enough, my favorite artist is Scorn. Don't even mention dnb and dubstep in the same sentence, dubstep is awful!! How people can even move to it is beyond me. The worst thing is it's being slowly introduced by DJ's when at a dnb rave, if I wanted dubstep i'd attended a dubstep night! I was going to bring this up. Like, how do you listen to it? (As in, what parts of it do you find enjoyable) What do you do at shows? How do you dance to it? I feel like I'm getting old.

Watch a live show on youtube, it's generally people jumping around waiting for a bass drop. To me personally, and the type of art I do for a living, I find it extremely inspiring. Just imagining what those sounds look like if they were visible. And generally, as I mentioned ING BASS DROPS. That's what's enjoyable about it. Seeing as Skrillex is kind of the poster child for dubstep, and is pretty much a gateway to Dubstep for the uninformed, just give it a shot. It may be annoying to some, but you can't deny it's catchiness. We listen to it because 2:45 makes my ears orgasm.

Funniest thing i've heard it compared to is what the sound of 2 Transformers having sex would be like. The Urban scene is now ruined in England and now its ruining it globally, because it's being slowly brought into every genre. I mean now we have Cypress Hill with an album, I mean come on! Can't these musicians hear how poor it is! One of the worst things to come out of England! With that being said, late 90's, early 2000's it wasn't actually that bad (was more towards a UK Garage sound rather than a genre of it's own,) it's just over time it gone downhill rather than improving.

I got to see some live dubstep last weekend, and it was so much fun, i'd reccomend it, atleast once to try it. When guys are doing it live (like at the festival i went to) it's a weird mix of feeling like you're at a club and at a gig, but it's definatly something i'd do again. You just dance however you want to, there's no dubstep dance manual. Anyway, the main difference between the two is dubstep is about 140bpm, drum and bass can be more ambiguous but is usualy around 180bpm.

That's the thing, it's slow as f*ck to move to, you'll be moving like robots. The only decent thing at a rave when a dubstep tune is dropped is the grinding the girls do.....DAMN!!

I can't stand Dubstep, but I'm into Deep House. Maceo Plex, Maya Jane Coles, Richie Hawtin, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Lee Foss, Mark Fanciulli, Luciano etc.
Also don't mind House like Swedish House Mafia, Mark Knight, Alesso, AN21 & Max Vangeli, Deadmau5, Erik Morillo, Michael Woods, Wally Lopez, Avicii, Pete Tong...

I feel like I'm getting old. If you're even attempting to care about what the kids are doing, there's still hope. I prefer to just sit around listening to Accused albums, talking about how awful young people are.

That joke is almost as original as it was when the guy two posts in made it... I shall take that as a compliment! Don't. You're stupid.

I think Skrillex is a really bad poster boy for the genre, there's just such better stuff out there, maybe that's just me though.

I'm generally the same way, with that being an awesome exception. So heavy. And to the guy above me, I didn't make him the posterboy, he took the genre and made it marketable. There's always someone in every form of entertainment who isn't the first, or even the best, but makes what they do popular to the general public. Such is Skrillex.

None. Because, to me, dubstep sounds like R2-D2 face f*cking a fax machine. Cheers to those who like it. Just not for me.

I miss 4 years ago when dubstep was mainly in the UK and underground :/ god damn Skrillex sucks ass his beats sound EXACTLY THE SAME. Doctor P, Flux Pavillion, Skream and Joker were and are still good (I've sort of grown out of it). Borgore's not too bad
