So because you want "Attitude Era" figures the rest of the world does too? It's not a smart business move because it segregates the 80's era fan. The way they are doing it now is fair to everyone. Sure I wish we got them more often but with the economy the way it is I'm just glad we're still getting them. Also I prefer the rubber shirts at times. Savage's rubber shirt looks absolutely great to me. And I just wish they had done the same with Legend 5 Savage's as well. The tassels is just an extra effort to make the figure more authentic. And with a cloth shirt they would have just rolled up and made the figure look cheap.
Another thing, to me The Punk scan is perfect in person. And I think it looks great on my shelf. I feel Mattel has made great strides with their likeness over the past year.

-These couldnt have been more wrong. Terry Funk, while a legend in many generations, isnt a top tier guy. His Jakks figures didnt "fly off shelves" and no matter what you made his Mattel figure. They werent going to fly off shelves either -The Character selection didnt kill the line, the saturation of the Legends/Classic figure is what killed the line. What was there truly left for Mattel to make that Jakks didnt? Savage, Steamboat and Von Erich...That's it. Why would people by Slaughter, Duggan, Austin or anyone else when they've already been made numerous times. Not to mention Jakks put a real sour and damper on collectors by jerking them around for a year. A lot of people didnt want to start over again. -The Road Warriors/LOD argument will NEVER hold up. I might be able to give you Slaughter or Rhodes or even Snuka but the Road Warriors DID fly off the shelves. They're the most expensive Legends figures in a secondary market (ebay etc) and they were the most expensive figures on RSC in the entire set. Road Warriors are names like Ultimate Warrior, No matter what you put them in, they are going to sell. There is no factual proof to show that LOD style would have sold any more or any better then the Road Warriors did. Period! Im sick of people basically saying "Well it wasnt in my generation so it wont sell"...Its petty. This site is a great starting point. Nearly every month someone starts a poll on tag teams. The 2 that hit the highest on a wanting scale are, and have always been Harlem Heat and LOD Red/Black. When Mattel gave us LOD, we hade around 20 people pleased to see the NWA attire, and the rest of the site pissed that it wasn't red/black. Thats just this forum. Im sure it was the same way around the net. When JAKKS chooses the red/black attire for them, and THQ does the same for them in a video game, that shows what their most requested/memorable attire was. Mattel stated that their design team chose to go a different route with their legends attires, since they feel that JAKKS made one, that Mattel would make another. Unfortunately, that choice failed the line. Thats the point im getting at. Their choices would have ben great repaints in battle packs later on down the road. When your launching a series, that a former company let drive itself into the ground, you have to break the mold. Mattel couldn't deliver. With the legends that is. And come on.. ECW Terry Funk, was way better than WWF's Funk. The scene with McMahon and Funk in the bar.....JOKE I never said that LOD wouldnt sell. I said there was no factual proof that they would sell better then the Road Warriors did. There IS proof that Road Warriors sold and sold greatly, thus by looking at the secondary market on them. The market on legends were saturated...Period. There is no if ands or buts to change that. If they made Slaughter in Cameo you know what would have happened? We would have a crap ton of Slaughters warming the shelves because Mattel over produced/saturated the market even more by rereleasing Legends 1 in the Hall of Fame series. People fail to realize that these "bad attires" that made figures "not sale" were released TWICE. You cant blame it on the attires when Mattel just freaking over produces figures. No matter how you try to sugar coat it, Funk isnt an elite caliber figure. His ECW style figures did sell in great numbers for Jakks and with a struggling Legends line, wouldnt have for Mattel either. Well technically L3 Rock and L1 Austin are the most expensive secondary market figures... Rocks prices have gone up recently. Just a few months ago these things were $13 in dollar stores and discount outlets. I think since he came back the prices have jumped but their figures are just a few dollars within Road Warriors.
