The Jakks Sid still gives me nightmares, and it even came out long before I ever got Ringside. Despite it not being a good figure, it still sold notoriously bad. There is absolutely no way I am on board for a Sid figure in any way, shape or form until every wrestling figure starts completely selling out in every online, mass retail and mom&pop toy store in the world. To be honest, I feel the reason it sold so terribly was the fact that it was one of Jakks' worst efforts of the entire Classic line. No kneepads, unpainted belt, tiny plain vest, "rocky" boots when Sid is 6'9" The headscan was alright but to me, was more of a "Sid Justice" look rather than a Sycho Sid look. I think Mattel could & would do a fantastic job on Sid. Which is why I want it. |

We still haven't gotten a current Kane or Brodus Clay...I doubt we'll see Sid this year.

1) Sid Justice debut (WWF). It was a darker blue than the Royal Rumble pic.
2) Sid Vicious (galoob style with longer hair and a singlet)
3) Sid Justice (the one pictured earlier in this thread)
4) Sycho Sid in black with the vest and title.
I'd buy all of these, with #1 being my preference.

When the jakks one came out I had to fix it. I made 3 of them. Sid head on bob backlund body with sids arms(for the long elbow pad) I also bought Sylvester Turkay and made a sweet nwa/horsemen Sid. Wound up making one in black trunks too. IMO when guys like Diesel and Yokozuna have to be short packed and a guy like Sid doesnt have a good chance to be made.....it might be time for me to stop collecting for good.

I don't think they have to be. I just think Mattel is making a judgement on all legends based on the poor performance of guys like Terry Funk. Mattel: "Oh people aren't buying our over-produced, obscurely attired legends, so I doubt they'll want Yokozuna and Diesel." |

i'd prefer a psycho sid in black trunks first but i'd buy a sid justice in blue trunks just as fast.

I think the reason Legends don't sell so well sometimes is kids today don't know their wrestling history and because of their horrible attention spans they can't appreciate the actualy wrestling style of guys like Terry Funk, Arn Anderson, Terry Taylor. Short story lines, flashy high spots, that's what we're stuck with these days

If there ever is a Sid figure, I hope it is from survivor series 96 were he won the wwf title... After seeing what Mattel did with e16 diesel leather jacket, I think they could could a great Sid.
I'd sure as he'll buy one!
