Thought after Legacy ended Cody would do nothing and eventually get fired while Dibiase skyrocketed. Boy did that turn out differently. This, completely.

For me; the list goes as follows and it begins with Owen Hart. Owen had all the talent and mic skills to take him to the top of the WWE/F and I thought his feud with Bret would have skyrocketed him into that position.
Next up Colt Cabana. WWE should have resigned him last summer during the Summer of Punk, his run as Scotty Goldman is largely forgettable.
Brodus Clay. When he returned as the Funkasaurus I thought he would be gone from TV a few weeks later, but he is still going strong.
The Miz. I never in a million years thought he would ever win the World title, let alone have such a great run with the belt.
Micheal McGillicutty: I think WWE has really missed the boat with this young man, if they repackaged him as a Hennig and let him run with the ball we could be looking at the next Mr. Perfect.
Zack Ryder - He went out and made himself a bit of a cult hero and WWE barely acknowledge that, unless you count his run as US Champ and him being the fall guy for the Cena - Kane feud. Now he's back to obscurity.

Wasn't Kenny Dykstra supposed to be something? After he beat Ric Flair at New Year's Revolution, I thought he was going somewhere but well.........

The fact is, WWE is playing it safe, has their one guy who makes all the money for them, and doesn't want to risk that by making anyone else big for fear that he won't be the main draw anymore.
We all know CM Punk isn't being pushed as the true face of the company, despite holding the WWE championship for the longest reign in 5 years.
This is how we end up with Kane, Big Show, and John Laurinaitus in PPV main events.
WWE has many talents who could be pushed as main eventers and made into stars. But they refuse to.

Masters, Carlito, Benjamin, Morrison, Kennedy, Lashley, MVP. Thought they were all future World Champions. WWE could do with some of them returning.
Also thought Miz was going nowhere and was wrong about him, Also thought Christian & Mark Henry would never become World Champion.

I never saw what was so special about Daniel Bryan when he came in (I didn't follow independent wrestling at the time). Now, he's one of my favorites to watch.

I thought Rhodes would do fine without Legacy. But I thought he'd be a face. Kind like "the grandson of a plumber" type gimmick. Figured he'd meet Dibiase in a Wrestlemania match within a couple of years. Surprised no one else said Elijah Burke. Blew my mind when WWE let him go cause he seemed to have it all. The fact is, WWE is playing it safe, has their one guy who makes all the money for them, and doesn't want to risk that by making anyone else big for fear that he won't be the main draw anymore. I thought they'd actually do something with Christian when he came back again. And no, in this case, I'm not counting the ECW or IC belts as "something". He deserves more than he's being given.

I was wrong about CM Punk. When he first debuted in WWECW I thought he was so overrated and hadn't seen any of his previous work so was completely uneducated on him. Now, well.

Carlito for sure, I thought he was going straight to the top. I definitely think he had the talent to be a total package guy, and I think WWE thought that as well for a time.
In retrospect, MVP should have been a guy that went straight to the top as a heel imo. I'd like to see him come back and get a mega push to be honest.
JoMo is definitely another one, as I was in favor of him winning the Rumble around 2009-2010. I still don't think he has/had the mic skills, but I felt like he was Jeff Hardy-esque in that regard that people were sort of wowed by his athleticism. He should have turned back heel since it would have been more natural for him from a character standpoint imo.
I'm happy with Pope and Anderson in TNA so I don't really have a big problem with how that played out but it did feel like both guys had a very high ceiling in WWE.

I honestly think that given the feud Cena and Barrett were having that Cena vs Barrett for the title, and/or Cena's freedom, at Mania could have been a monster match. Cena could have won and Rock could have come out and hit the Rock bottom and still challenged him to send the PPV off the air. Not sure how Miz would have factored into all of that but they missed their chance with Barrett at Survivor Series and Del Rio at WM imo. They waited too longer on Del Rio and his MITB cash-in meant nothing, especially on CM Punk, and Barrett almost got back to where he was by pushing Orton down the stairs but then got hurt. Hated both those situations though. I mean you spend 6 months on that Nexus angle with Cena and they got no payoff from it. Why? I will always stand by the idea that Nexus was one great night, and then fumes off that one moment.

John Cena. At first when this kid stepped in the WWE I bet no one knew he would be where he is now.

CM Punk. I thought for sure Vince would have canned him long ago, but thanks to Benoit, he's still there and not going anywhere.
