Really happy it's Mankind but like others have said I'd rather there be 2 Flashbacks not just 1.

Seriously?? Complaints?? Basic Cenas suck, but I love collecting all the Elite Cenas. He's the perfect guy for an elite fig. A lot of accessories and always a new deco.
Mankind will look perfect! No matter how they do it. Be patient. I'm sure we will get more Foley figs.
Maybe it will be corporate Mankind w everything removable. This way, we can get cactus jack under the sweats, mask and white shirt.

This is another legend/flashback that isn't on my "must have" list but I'm happy to pay 35 bucks plus shipping. I'd regret not having him if for no other reason than his infamous plunge from the top of the Hell in the Cell via the Undertaker. That is one of my top 10 favorite matches of all time. I'll also buy a Cactus Jack when he's released.
As for the topic at hand, I agree there are lots of other flashback I'd rather see (at least 30, which is as high as my list goes), but Mankind is an essential Attitude Era/Monday Night Wars gimmick. You have the Rock n Sock Connection, the Hell in the Cell with Taker, the WCW Nitro guys announcing his tape-delayed WWE championship on live tv while making fun of him, etc. These were important moments in one of the most, if not the most, important periods in wrestling history. He needs a figure, and he'll sell well.

If they say it's just a coincidence, it must be something subconscious, because they've been alternating between 1 and 2 all year. By the pattern, E18 will have two Flashbacks. Hopefully.
Mankind will be a major seller. He's one of the few big marketable names that they have access to that haven't been done yet. If Jakks were able to nail him in CS2, I can't wait to see how Mattel does him in this set.

E17 is a pretty sexy set. I'll definitely get Ryder, Cena, and Mankind. The others will have to wait until protos show up.

I'm OK with it, but more annoyed that an Elite spot is wasted on Kelly Kelly.
C'mon, Divas are already Elite. Would it be that hard to just crank out a camo Sgt. Slaughter?

There are some female collectors out there so why not after 16 series and put a female into the line? It's just one spot, not that big of a deal. A lot of collectors want a shiny Divas Belt and this is the perfect chance to release one. |

The Elite Kelly Kelly is just going to be a Basic Kelly Kelly with a shiny painted Divas Championship.
It took until the 17th Elite Series to get a Diva in there, they did NOT create a new Diva body or different parts than what they use on the Basic Divas.
I hardly think that the Kelly Kelly is going to be worth the $17 at retail or whatever RSC will charge for it for essentially a Basic style figure.

Better choices also include Ian Mooney, Mel Phillips, Dwayne Gill, Buck Zumhofe, the Ding Dongs, the Mulkey Brothers, Kowabunga the wrestling turtle, the Christmas Creature, and the next poster in this thread. All female figures are Elite. It would be the same if Mattel relased Elite style announcers in the basic line and then tried to pass one off as an Elite figure. Kelly Kelly is a total waste of an Elite spot.I don't even know who Johnny Curtis is, but if he doesn't already have at least two Elite figures he's already the better choice by default. |

I don't know why you're complaining about a well articulated Mankind figure...lol. I've had tons of trouble going back to get the Jakks Mankind and I'm glad to have an Elite styled one, of all styles, of Mankind. I hope he comes with Mr. Socko.

I started watching wrestling in 1997 so Mankind of any era is right in my ballpark. I always loved his character, even his Corporate era. Foley has always been one of my favorites so I'm psyched for this figure.

Mankind is an excellent choice for a Flashback figure and fits the concept perfectly. Mattel will knock this one out of the park.
They mentioned earlier that Foley's other personas require different tooling and couldn't just be released as variants. That should tell you that they're putting quite a bit of effort into this.
