WWE's creative department are targeting Survivor Series on November 18 for the return of The Undertaker.
After undergoing two major surgeries in the past year and performing suitably at WrestleMania XXVIII, many company employees believe he has several more matches left in the tank and will almost certainly compete at WrestleMania XXIX.

I thought the only reason he missed most of last year is because he was healing injurys?

I was under the impression that "End of Era" was another way of saying "retirement".
If he continues wrestling, then WM28 wasn't the end, was it?

The last time Triple H had a match with Undertaker. ..... ...... lame!!!I was very emotionally invested in that match, and I believe a majority of that investment was based on me thinking that it was going to be the last match....period. Why didn't they just say, "One last time, to see who truely is the better man."?

Why didn't they just say, "One last time, to see who truely is the better man."? Because it still was the end of an era. If it was going to be Undertakers last match they would have made sure you knew it, and he would have had a Ric Flair style send off.

i also thought it would be taker's last match, and i think they kind of left the storyline loose around there in case it turned out to be his last match actually by forced health reasons.
he was in bad shape this year...the only thing that got him through the match was the endless chairshots and spinebuster. i figured they did that to avoid any extemely fatiguing/power requiring spots.

Prior to WM25, I really felt like Undertaker's legacy really was highlighted at Survivor Series more so than Mania, so it makes sense they want to use him to push buys and have a big match. I think Brock vs Taker is undoubtedly happening, so I'm wondering if they have other plans for Brock or Taker at Mania and want to push the Taker match for Survivor Series.
I think it's also worth mentioning that Taker could really put over a young heel in a big match at Survivor Series. Not something I would rule out for any of Barrett, Cody, or Ziggler, if he stays heel, assuming one of them wins MITB or they want to put one of them on a path to win the Rumble. A newly crowned World Champion could really be cemented by beating Taker in a World Title match at Survivor Series as well.

No way was it his last match, and not once during the week building up did I think it would be. A lot more would have gone into that story if it was his last match!

Yeah, when Taker has his last match they will surely build it up by saying it is his last match.

He should retire at WM 30 I've never understood people saying this. He should retire when he's DONE. I'd rather him be gone and come back for a match here and there than to retire only to come back for "one more match"

I think Undertaker needs to put someone over, like Wade Barrett.

It was suppost to mark the end of the attitude era. Shawn Michaels, Triple H And The UnderTaker will never, ever be in that environment again. That was the point.
Survivor Series normally sucks now they stripped away every elimination style match up, so I guess they need Taker back to pull in the big bucks. I'm good with that. A match against Tensai perhaps?

Tensai has become laughable. He has no more credibility than Khali.
