I don't know. If someone was making money off my name. I might have a problem with it too. Seems like a d*ckmove, but you gotta put yourself in his shoes.

This guy owns the rights to his logo, likeness, and character. When Scott Hall first showed up on WCW Nitro, he tried to sound like Razor Ramon. But he couldn't be Razor and he couldn't say his name was Razor because WWF owned the gimmick. Warrior owns his gimmick, and like a one-hit-wonder trying to live off of their one stroke of genius, this guy was smart enough to copyright his own look and name, just like "The Hit Man," or the British Bulldog and Hulk Hogan. Those guy carry THEIR creation with them wherever they go, so I can't blame them if they would want to protect it.

I dont think any less of him but thats probably because I didnt think much of him from the start. I was well aware this dude has issues. I love the character Jim plays or played (Ultimate Warrior) but the man himself is a total dick

It's not just Warrior. Both DC and Marvel comics have been known to do that in the past as well.

He actually doesnt own the rights to the Ultimate Warrior name I believe that belongs to WWE, he might make a case for the likness of his image. Again I dont know but you would think this would be in WWE's hands since he cant even wrestle under Ulitmate Warrior

WWE does own "Ultimate Warrior," as he was clearly called just "Warrior" when he wrestled in WCW, but his emblem was used in WCW without any problems because he owns it.

How about you stop making money off the likenesses and trademarks that people own? Warrior is not in the wrong here, only you are.

What a jerk. And honestly I do believe it is him sitting in front of the computer. Seems he doesn't do much else these days. He is constantly making videos. Same thing happened to me with a custom hockey mask I painted like Eddie Van Halen's red, white and black striped guitar. The mask had a $99 bid on it and it got removed because Eddie owns the rights to the stripe pattern. Ridiculous. My little $99 mask is affecting HIM? These people need to leave us little guys alone. Go after the people mass marketing the illegal stuff. Customs are nothing more than artistic expressions. Emotions aside, it is a slippery slope. At what point does the "little guy" making a custom or an artistic expression become the person mass marketing illegal stuff. If one custom does well, why not produce hundreds? Why not take the revenue from those hundreds of customs and open a shop that sells them? When that does well, why not expand into also selling t-shirts, posters and any other item bearing that likeness? I realize that is an extreme and unlikely example. The thing is that copyright and trademark laws are in place for a reason and some people will enforce them more fiercely than others. I challenge anybody here to create an image or character (Warrior was using his before he worked for McMahon and owns the trademark on it) and then watch happily while others profit from your work. Most people here would get irritated if somebody took one of their custom made banners, avatars or signatures and used it elsewhere. There's no way that a single person could mass produce hand painted figures, so that is a non argument here. Also, he bought the figure. At that point he is legally allowed to do whatever he wants with it. that includes painting and selling it. If he made a cast of it and started manufacturing his own copies, that would be one thing. But he's not. What Apoc did was completely within the guidelines of copyright law and it's just a case of Warrior being greedy and Ebay being overly cautious. On a separate note, I find it funny that people are saying that people are saying they lost all respect for him now. I haven't had respect for Warrior in a very long time.

Maybe that's why Mattel can't produce super accurate scans. They'd be making too money off the likeness of a person..

I met the warrior about a month ago and he was kind of a D**k. i put down the CS 1, legends 4 & 6 and the DM. he asked my name and i said Rich. Then he went into a whole speech how if i was gonna resell them to tell him and he wont personalize them. i told him that i collect and that i have a huge collection and he kinda rolled his eyes like Yeah ok.. i gave him the link to my flickr page but IDK if he looked at it and nor do i care

Ive heard about this happening to other members recently as well. Anyone who says Im in the wrong, I bought this figure, Took the time to remove The hair to paint, remove paint, then Paint it in a new deco. Added the HBK DM Jacket and sold a figure on ebay that I bought from Ebay.
So To have Jim Helwig tell Ebay to remove my custom because its a Counterfeit is as low as dirt in my honest opinion. I dont give a crapabout Hulk Hogan really but you dont see him turning on his fans and trying to Bogart all things "Hogan" . My L4 warrior cost me $30-$40 shipped, The HBK Cost me the same, I started my auction at 79.99 and if anyone has ever watched any of my Other Auctions I've never started One Auction other than this one and the rockers over .99
I sent Warrior an email expressing how I feel about him thinking he owns My Custom made action figure, Lets see if he trys to sue me for harrassment to line his pockets a little more

The worst part is ebay doesnt even give you an option to defend yourself. Its a Mattel Warrior figure, I Bought a Mattel Warrior figure and am selling a Mattel Warrior figure. Ive seen Unpainted, Non Custom Mattel Warriors Sell for more than what i started my auction at lol ...

Right, except Mattel is paying Warrior to make money off of his likeness. The guy who started this thread is not. See the difference? yeah, no cut for the middle man. but it's a figure that he already bought himself. so mattel got their share already. he repainted the figure, and decided to put it up for sale. that's like saying you cant have a garage sale, coz youre making money off of stuff that you dont need/want/have space for or whatever reason. warrior sucks. he should be happy people make customs of him, so they can have a bigger collection of all his attires.

Better yet he needs something better to do then just sit and wait for a custom figure of him to pop out so he can remove it from the internet
