What a crock of shit. They offer half ass names at 30$ after shipping and wonder why it failed? What a joke. I am legit pissed off about this. Mattel is starting to become like Jakks. Always finds a way to something good up. I mean did they really expect DDP to sell out? Especially when half the in people prob. Don't even know about matty? If Mattel would of started the legends line correctly and put macho man, Andre, Nash and others people actually wanted it might of taken off.

They have never put the WWE figs on sale the same time as the MOTU and DC stuff, which have been a pain in the ass to order in the past. So it will be interesting. But I haven't seen an individual link to Arn yet, while they do have links up to other products from the July 16 sale.

I feel like the bearer of bad news I'm equally upset...I'm engaged now and saving for a wedding so I virtually cut my collecting to just legends (with a few exceptions like new masked Kane, Punk, etc.) I agree that they should have had guys like Yoko, Bossman, Mankind, Diesel to begin with. I also LOVE the idea of having a legends line on RSC...in fact, another question asked was about the NWO macho packaging...the person asked if future NWO figs would have the NWO logos and such, and matty replied with, "it was just for RSC, but if they chose to do more NWO exclusives then we could do that" Saying, "if they (meaning RSC) chose to", led me to believe that ringside may have some kind of leverage. Even if it was only like 3 to 4 figures per series, it'd be something. Flashbacks sell like hotcakes on here and it seems like RSC cant get enough of them in-stock (Yoko, and Nash are just gone) and I think that could be a win-win for everybody. Also, maybe they could set specific pack-out numbers? (no 1 figs per case or 1 every other case) Let's get a petition going....?!

I dont mind if they just stick to one a series as long as they do two things with it.... 1)Stop making the damn things 1 per every million cases. Its annoying having to pay $50+ on a secondary market for a figure. 2)Rotate "eras" every other series. While I personally want everything to be from 86-92, I know its not going to happen. So, put something from the 80s and then next series 90s and then next 80s and back and forth.

;The time has come to answer this question, ZomBieApocaLypse. We do not have plans to continue offering exclusive Legends on MattyCollector in 2013, however we do intend to continue incorporating Legends into the Elite Collection. And at least one of the guys you mentioned has already been slotted in the line for early 2013
He mentioned Earthquake, Crush, Giant Gonzalez, and Honkey Tonk Man. So we'll get one of those for sure. My guess is Honkey Tonk Man.
im hoping for great Gonzalez

I'm not surprised at all. I called it earlier this year and people said that they think Legends will continue. It failed because most of the Flashbacks Mattel has made have been better than their Legends and the Flashbacks are cheaper too. I think Yokozuna, Diesel, Booker T & Bossman are better than any of the Legends they put out this year. I'm sure Mankind will be better too. While the Andre and DDP are nice figures both are pretty plain and then you have Bundy who again is a great figure but he's plain too. The figures end up being $28 after shipping and aside from Andre while a lot of those guys did a lot for the business they just aren't as popular as most of the guys Mattel has released as Flashbacks. For example what makes DDP a legend over Yoko? Nothing. I think Mattel knows guys like Mankind, Booker T, Nash and Yokozuna will sell better in stores than a DDP or King Kong Bundy would so they release them in stores. Legends on Matty was worn down anyway but it does suck because it was the only chance some guys will probably ever see the light of day.
Another difference is when Jakks did this more older fans were into wrestling and it was years ago so most of the legends will still l well known. Now 2004 is considered classic by most people on this board.

^ Did i just read something I totally agree with??? hmmmm......
I wasnt around for the Jakks figures, but when I see how many different Classic wrestlers they churned out......its astounding....and probably spoiled alot of yall. They did an Ernie Ladd figure!
Matty legends can't compete with Flashbacks like Yoko, Nash, Bossman, Booker that are cheaper and easier to find. They should have put them on wwe shop. there is still ppl on these boards that don't know about the matty collector site.
Heck there is ppl on ebay that don't know about RSC. Sounds crazy...but its true

Lol at the people blaming Mattel for the Mattycollector line failing. They let us the collectors choose the people they made. This line, just like the other legends line failed for 2 reasons. One, the price point, you came blame Mattel for the price as they are trying to make money. And two, there isn't as big a market for legends as before, yes there's still a nitch market, much like the nitch jobber and diva collectors. I think it's a shame that they won't be doing anymore. I just hope they finish up what they've planned for the rest of the year(mainly Liz)
