Just wondering what are everyone's favourite PPV match(es) of Steve Austin? Other than the obvious Hart and Rock matches, I would have to say his matches with Undertaker in that late '98/early '99 period as well his Backlash '99 match against Rock to name a few. I would even say Backlash was better than their match at 'Mania 15.

Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle at SummerSlam 2001.
I think that was the best match they ever had, and the title change should have happened that night.

Yeah, the matches between Angle and other guys like Chris Jericho were really good. His match with Benoit on SmackDown for the WWF title was one of the best TV matches that year. 2001 is my favourite year of Austin's in term of ring work in WWE.

Bret Hart.
Anything against Bret Hart was good. Survivor Series 1996, Wrestlemania 13, Revenge of Taker, Final Four, etc.
Also, I think his match with Kane at King of the Ring 1998 is very underrated and is obviously forgotten about due to Mankind vs. Undertaker Hell in a Cell the same night.

I have to go with Summerslam '01 vs. Kurt Angle as well. Those two told a great story that night and the match was beyond violent. I gained a lot of respect for Angle that night and Austin did a damn fine job of putting Kurt over. Should've been the main event as it completely overshadowed Rock vs. Booker IMO.

Steve Austin vs. Kurt Angle at SummerSlam 2001. I think that was the best match they ever had, and the title change should have happened that night. If this match had a real ending, it would have easily been MOTY. Easily. His matches against Shawn in 1996 were fantastic. Savio and Austin also worked very well together.

All of Austin's stuff with Kane, 'Taker, Rock, and Foley in 98/99 was great.
My favorites specifically being Over the Edge 98, Summerslam 98, and Backlash 99
OTE 98 vs. Dude Love: Great no DQ Match. It was classic Attitude Era with Vince trying to screw over Stone Cold, but Austin (and Undertaker this time) always foiled his plan. 'Taker's chokeslams to the stooges at the end of the match were awesome too.
Summerslam 98 vs. Undertaker: Undertaker was always my favorite back in the day and I must have been on of the only ones actually cheering for him against Austin. Really enjoyed this match and the leg drop was awesome.
Backlash 99 vs. the Rock: I agree with Joker on this one and I think it's better than their match at Wrestlemania 15. I still think Wrestlemania 19 is their best match, though.

My favorite Austin match that wasn't against Bret Hart was the Three Stages of Hell match against Triple H at No Way Out 2001. The tag match on Raw where he and Triple H lost the tag titles to Jericho and Benoit was awesome as well.

oh the 3 stages of hell........what a GREAT match.I was so suprised to see Austin lose......BUT Vinne had to throw HHH a bone for WM17,and his victory here set that up perfectly for a showdown with Taker

I always REALLY liked his match against Jake Roberts at KOTR 96. Man was I rooting for Jake the whole time lol.
I think his WM 13 against Bret will go down as his best match though.
It's a shame we didn't get Austin vs Hogan.

Am I the only one that hates the 3 Stages of Hell match with Triple H? Sheesh.
Anyway, if we throw out the Rock/Hart series, Austin/Angle from SummerSlam takes it. Just spectacular, and I wish it had a real ending. Angle was unstoppable that night.

Was the Benoit austin match from smackdown err released on DVD? I've always heard of this match but never seen it Pretty sure it's on YouTube. As others have said Angle vs Austin from SS 01' was tremendous. I'd put it above Rock vs Austin that year for MOTY.

His Caribbean Strap Match vs Savio Vega from In Your House: Beware of Dog 2. I was a big Savio fan back in the day so it was cool to see him vanquish DiBiase from the fed. Plus they play Na Na Na Goodbye in the arena after the match. My guess is that's edited out of any dvds the match might be on but it's on the old coliseum video(WrestleFest 96).
