Hey guys -- as someone who isn't a big TMNT collector but likes to have a good representation of all key action figure properties in my collection, am I crazy to consider going all in on this Super 7 TMNT line? These look freaking incredible, like the perfect marriage of classic and modern. I had considered getting in on the NECA figs but distribution issues pretty quickly stopped that from happening.
Is there any chance that these Super 7 ones end up being the "definitive" modern TMNT line for collectors who want the best TMNT figs? I don't plan on going nuts and buying all sorts of different TMNT versions, but I could see myself being very happy with these.

I don't plan on going nuts and buying all sorts of different TMNT versions, but I could see myself being very happy with these. Kind of depends what version of the Turtles you like. NECA 100% made the definitive movie versions. I prefer Figuarts for the toon versions but they didn’t make any other characters except for the four turtles. S7 is making Ultimate versions of the Playmates line from when we were kids, and I’m sure they’ll be amazing. You kind of just have to decide what version you like the most. I’m collecting all of the NECA movie figures, we’re apparently getting a bunch more at ToyFair. I have the four Figuarts turtles and they scale perfectly with NECA’s toon line. So I have Rocksteady/Bebop, and Shredder, and then I’ll get Casey, April, Splinter, and Android Krang and be done with NECA toons. I’m collecting all of the S7 line because they’re redoing the Playmates line. It’s hard to say S7 is going to be the best without having them yet, and seeing how they scale, but they do look great and S7 has the Ultimate body worked out. Problem with S7 is they take forever, and so you’re looking at only having two of the four turtles in 2020, if we’re lucky. S7 has Thundercats, New Japan, Conan, and Turtles all going into gear at one time and they already don’t get anything out on time. So you’re going to have to be patient with them if the toy remakes are your favorite incarnations. I think if all things go as planned, NECA and S7 both will have definitive lines. NECA is way ahead of S7 right now, though.

If I do dive in, I think I'll go with the Super 7's for now ... for starters, I think the Neca/Target distribution would drive me bonkers (my area's particularly bad), and the Super 7 convenience factor would be huge there. And second, my connection to TMNT is based more on the 90s toys than anything else (along with the original arcade game, and I do own the Neca SDCC set from a few years back), so that's kind of a win-win, ha.

I picked up my movie Shredder, Foot Ninjas, and Splinter from GameStop earlier. It turns out, they had been $29.99 in the system when I pre-ordered them, but they’re actually $24.99. That, and the guy was cool enough to apply the bag sale pricing. Long story short, I left with all four figures and a refund of about 37 bucks haha.
The figures themselves are great. The Foot ninjas are really cool to mess with, and Splinter is surprisingly versatile to move around. Shredder - what can I say, he’s great. High recommendations for these guys if you have the movie TMNT.

Just thought I'd put this here in case anyone is interested. It was just announced & will be added to the website shortly. On June 27th & 28th, 2020 Francois Chau (the actor who played Shredder in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze") will be appearing at the Garden State Comic Fest in Morristown, NJ. This is a very rare East Coast appearance for Mr. Chau. This is a great opportunity to get your Shredder items signed by him. www.gardenstatecomicfest.com/

Got my preordered shredder today. It’s awesome! Now do I take my chances in finding the others at a store or stop while I can. I missed out on the movie turtles so I’ll need them if I dive in and get all of this set.

I ordered the NECA movie Shredder and Splinter back in August from GameStop, then got an email yesterday that my order had been cancelled! Could anyone hook me up?

its going to be a very expensive year thanks to NECA, amazing stuff. How about the 1/4 scale cartoon Turtles too? I showed my girlfriend and I think she's going to kill me if I get those.

Hasbro better have something special planned, cause NECA just dominated right out the gate. Both movie and cartoon TMNT, and the horror stuff? Just — damn. WILL be swinging by ThinkGeek as soon as pre orders go up for the movie figs...

Super Shredder, Tokka, Rahzar, Casey, and Trench Coat Raph? Awesome.
The toon stuff is looking stellar also.
I wonder if they'll make Secret of the Ooze TMNT? It'd be easy to repurpose the movie bodies with new heads and accessories. I'm not terribly interested in them, but my obsession would make me NEED them if I had Tokka and Rahzar haha.

CARTOON SPLINTER!! FINALLY we now have a high-quality TMNT cartoon figure line including ALL the core characters! About time after Playmates and Tamashii Nations pathetic attempts. Hope the characters keep coming.
Splinter looks great, so excited for him. Glad to see Krang in his android body too though something about it doesn't look right to me. I haven't checked reference pics to pinpoint exactly what it is, but my first instinct is that it's lacking detail or too puffy or something. Also I believe they've tweaked the April head since it was first shown, but it STILL looks very weird and off to me. Too big and chubby/puffy looking. Hmmmm.
