This is a great set. Hopefully I can find a Metalhead soon, and then the hunt for the April 2 pack and Super Shredder begins. I will find these cartoon turtles.

Grabbed my Tokka and Rahzar. Most painless NECA purchase of all time. Now I wait for my Target order of the Mutagen set to arrive. Should be here Monday.

casey/undercover raph went up for preorder on a site(i know i'm not allowed to say the site here...even though its literally no competition to ringside) yesterday. scheduled for december delivery. so i said screw it and ordered. now at least i can stop hunting for the two pack. if i happen to find it in the wild? well then i can open one and keep the other in the box

I ordered the 2-pack. I mean, between the price hike and the shipping it was like $30 more than I really wanted to spend, but I'm assuming that due to the size of the figures and the production cost that this is why they were able to do this because they probably weren't able to get a store to purchase it.
Selling it at Walmart or Target for $49.99 probably wouldn't have been worth it to NECA and at $69.99 those stores probably didn't want it....so it was the perfect storm.
I guess this is the cost of collecting. It is what it is.

I guess this is the cost of collecting. It is what it is. this is a GREAT point and I didn't even think of that....they probably presented it to Walmart and WM was like " no"....so they said "hmmm lets just do this faux pre-order thing because everyone will be so happy with us thinking we did it for them" so they made it seem like THEY were doing US this big favor by making this super easy pre-order system and they got to jack the price up by $20 + higher shipping costs....and not paying the middle man, so they are making even more money think of it this way....if Walmart is selling the 2 packs for $50, that means they are paying prob 30-35% LESS for them at least.....so why should NECA be charging the same price coming directly from them? (when the movie 2 packs went up for pre-order on NECA site they were the same retail as Walmart) TLDR; NECA could have sold this pack for $50 with like a standard $7.95 shipping rate and STILL made a mint.

There’s no way Tokka and Rahzar woulda been $50 at retail. They’re massive and not the same size as the normal 7” figures at the $50 price point. They woulda been priced similarly to Metalhead and Super Shredder at $30 each so around $60 for the pair. So you’re paying maybe $10 more and that’s probably because they’re not being massed produced. Shipping is more because again these figures are huge and weigh a lot more than a regular turtle 2 pack.

I was ready to pre order this morning that sat on it for awhile, but I did end up purchasing. With shipping, it was $92 and I live in the midwest.
I'm not happy with the price hike neither, considering the Rocksteady and Bebop are some bulky figures and they were $50.
Although not happy, I looked at all the toys I collect and I have figures in my collection that I've paid more for. Recently, I bought an Ultra Instincts Goku for $52...
A lot of people on FB giving crap to people that are complaining, but paying $35 more than usual is something not to be happy about. Still if you want them, this is the only week to get them and then they are vaulted and people are at the mercy of eBay...
Blue Splinter sells around 4x the value of the loot box her sold in. I'd hate to any collector to miss out and have to possibly pay 4x tge value on these guys.
$35 extra is a full gas tank for me, it's a WWE Ultimate edition figure, I urge anyone on the fence to go ahead and preorder, you can always sell it if you change your mind later. Good luck.

I ordered two of the Tokka/Rahzar sets. Yeah, 70 apiece is more than 50. But considering I would’ve never seen it at retail, coupled with secondhand prices, and factoring in how easy this pre-order was compared to every other pre-order lately, I honestly don’t think the price increase is bad. At ALL.
These figures are going to be huge.

(when the movie 2 packs went up for pre-order on NECA site they were the same retail as Walmart) TLDR; NECA could have sold this pack for $50 with like a standard $7.95 shipping rate and STILL made a mint. You need to step away from this "eYe H8 NYUCKA" gimmick you have going on, it's starting to wear thin. Responses like this are exactly why Randy comes across like an bunghole on Twitter. He gets hugging inundated with crap like this all the time. We're lucky the dude hasn't taken his ball and bounced like Sweaty Bill did. Randy has been very open about a lot of the things going on on Twitter and in interviews (for instance watch the latest Pixel Dan interview). Their deal with Target is tight. Everything runs through Target. Their deal with Walmart is more fluid. They have wiggle room there. They decided to move T&R to an MTO model. This not only made it easier to get the figures made, but they can ship directly to the consumer instead of relying on shipping to distributors and then having to hear about how the warehouses aren't shipping enough units to stores. They're taking a chance on this whole thing tanking because everything is "done" except for telling the factory how many sets to make. They could very easily get burned on this if they don't sell through enough because the retailer isn't footing the bill here, NECA is. These figures are going to probably be around 8 or 9 inches tall and are going to be so solid you could bludgeon someone with them. They were never coming to retail for 50 bucks. If you assumed that, that's on you. And no, they won't be making a mint on these. I think you're forgetting how many people hated and still hate these two characters. Plus they have to make back the aforementioned tooling and production cost. Bottom line is that you, and a lot of other people aren't factoring in on all this is that NECA can't just do whatever they want with this property. Playmates is still the king crap here and they still have influence. Remember how Super 7 got the rug pulled out from under them when Mattel decided to bring back and go all in on MOTU? And Super 7 wasn't even selling at retail! Same could happen here. We're getting NECA TMNT at retail because Playmates has nothing to offer right now...but it's still their game to call. The second they want to put out new product, I'd wager that's the end of NECA's license. Then on top of that, they still have to play ball with Target and Walmart to get this stuff in the door. Why do you think the cartoon, movie, and game stuff is all being sold via different channels? Wouldn't it be so much easier to just sell it all everywhere? Think about it.

im honestly done with this line. im done with this bullcrap. im not running around to 15 targets and walmarts a week to try and find one pack of 2 turtles figures for myself. its ridiculous. i truly wish another company had the rights to make these figures because they would actually BE AVAILABLE to people that wanted them....and not 2 per store at random stores scattered around the entire country You're also not mentioning that only certain targets carry them, but it's not target who stocks them so you have no way of checking inventory levels.

Got In the Super7 Baxter SDCC exclusive the other day. Didn’t take photos (there are many photos out there and a detailed review at fwoosh) but what a cool figure. My first Super7 and I def am onboard to get select figures they do with tmnt because from the packaging to the figure itself, it’s awesome.
