Thomas Jane was better than Ben Affleck and Nicholas Cage I thought. In their roles as Daredevil and Ghost Rider. I hope this means Jane will be doing another punisher flick

Thomas Jane was better than Ben Affleck and Nicholas Cage I thought. okay, but does that really redeem anything?

I liked Punisher '04, and I feel like this was a really fitting follow up. Nicely done.

Out of the three Punisher movies, the only one I didn't care for was the one from the 80's with Dolph Lundgren.

I loved The Punisher movie he did. What's not to like? 99% of the reason i put that as the title was to try and get as many people to actually be intrigued to watch it, but i should've expected digression into if the thomas jane movie was good or not, so i'm only going to answer this point once: i personally didn't like it. i felt it didn't properly portray frank whatsoever, and made a mockery out of the character. they did some stuff right, sure, but they made it faaar too campy...and the punisher was never a campy character. i'm a massive punisher comics fan, so it just didn't live up to my expectations. that said, i still enjoy the thomas jane movie as a completely separate thing...but it doesn't fall under 'punisher' to me. war journal, on the other hand, completely took it the other way TOO far. anyways, obviously if you have anything to say i'm open to some conversation, but i just hope the overall focus of this thread can be on as many people actually watching that video as possible and replying in response to it.

Wasn't the War Journal series a darker more violent version of the Punisher, or am I thinking of something else?

Wasn't the War Journal series a darker more violent version of the Punisher, or am I thinking of something else? yep, dead on. conceptually they were on the ball with punisher, but they didn't execute (no pun intended) the product properly in it's portayal. by this i mean, we finally saw someone who fit the punisher, but he was a very bland punisher. it was the war JOURNAL. frank should've been narrating his every move, breaking down the horrifying psyche of frank castle and just why he feels the need to punish. instead we got a quiet badass who mercilessly killed. really too bad, as it got SO close.

Loved Tom Jane as the Punisher, this seems a little more edgy, he said this was a fan made project of his, and that this in no way means a sequel is coming.

Thomas Jane was awesome as The Punisher.
This short was good too. Went from zero to bad ass in about 2.5 seconds.

That was awesome. That's my favorite Punisher film. Hopefully this is a sign of Jane doing another movie as The Punisher.

I enjoyed the Punisher with Thomas Jane, but I didnt buy John Travolta as a villain in it. I always thought Travolta's roles in this and Swordfish where pretty much the same.
This was a pretty badass short though.

I LOVE the 2004 Punisher movie and I thought Jane was great as Castle.IMO Hensleigh did a great job.yeah it was in Florida etc but I got over that quickly.
the way he blended the story from Welcome Back Frank and War Zone Vol 1 was great IMO.

That was pretty awesome. I hope a sequel is coming, I like the first one except for the fact that his entire family was murdered instead of just his wife and son and I didn't like the fact that it didn't take place in New York. Other than that though it was pretty good.

I loved the 04 Punisher, one of my favourite films ever, just so good, and Jane's performance is just incredible. This is just as awesome, and Jane has actually said he'd do another Punisher film, and would love to do the Punisher Vs. Marvel series, where Punisher hunts and kills every Marvel hero and villian; I would love that so f'ing much!

i honestly would not want to see punisher vs. marvel. the comic version of it is really goofy, and besides seeing the cool ways he kills off captain america and a few others, the gimmick sizzles.
punisher has always been best kept out of the other superhero scenarios. run ins, sure. but the farthest extent i'd like to see the punisher character alongside marvel super heroes is his role in spider-man. other than that, it dilutes the character.

I loved both Punisher movies for entirely different reasons. The second one was just an over the top violent romp. I honestly felt like this fanmade thing was a good mix of the two movies. I'd love to see Jane return as Punisher. Unfortunately, it'll never happen under the Disney/Marvel banned because Punisher is just too violent. I can't imagine them being able to tone it down enough for it to work under that particular banner.
