You, and every wrestler at that, forget that WE, the fans, are who pays their salaries. The douchebag could at least say "Sorry, busy" or "Sorry, not the time" He doesn't like interacting with people? Then get the hell off of a program where thousands watch you weekly and a program where you are one of top faces. You mean the salaries we pay to see them in the ring where they put their bodies on the line to entertain us? Didn't know that included the right to invade their personal lifes. They are people just like us. You fly on a plane for hours then have someone stick something in your face to sign. And I'm sure he doesn't go out of his way to be a dick. He may be moody, but who the hell wouldn't be? So saying hi and asking for a picture is invading their lives? Give me a break.

Or when you go to the hotel they are staying at in search of autographs and pictures. I understand you may not see the harm in just asking for a picture. But you could be one of hundreds of people that asked for the same thing that very day. After a while I'm sure just about everyone of them get fed up with it. Some just hide it better than others. They spend all this time trying to entertain you. Do you really need that little bit more? Just my personal opinion......

He's the Soup Nazi of autographs!
But in all seriousness, I don't blame him. I hate rude, self-entitled, pushy people myself. The world is filled with a-holes, so do your part to not be one of them.

Well I agree with CM Punks stance on how you should treat him.I did get the chance to meet him back in '06 right before he debut on ECW at a WWE show here in Minneapolis.Me a a few other guys caught him right out side of the Target Center and got to talk to him for a good ten minutes before he left.He was really cool and layed back.It might of help that none of us ask him to take a picture with us or sign anything. We just talk to him like he was a regular guy.

Punk is an interesting character, because honestly, for every negative experience I hear about him (and usually they're extremely negative), I hear a story about him being really great. I think it's all about the time and place.
When Punk is in his element and enjoying himself, he seems to be really approachable and genuinely kind. I watched the Q&A session he did back in June online and though it was a scheduled thing, he was in great spirits and was kind and appreciative of everyone who asked him a question. He even stayed an hour beyond his allotted time to fit everyone in.
It's an added bonus when you have something in common with him other than wrestling. I know people have had great experiences with him at punk shows or functions related to comic books.
If I ever run into Punk, I've sort of always hoped it'd be at a New Found Glory show. I'd honestly feel pretty comfortable approaching him at that.

Famous people don't owe you an autograph or a picture but there is never an excuse for being rude to someone for no reason. Without fans he wouldn't be anyone or have gotten anywhere in the world on WWE. It's as simple as that.

Nothing funny about the Tweet? Like, at all. Manners don't cost anything. Manners should be afforded from everybody from a janitor to a president. Lump a WWE star somewhere in the middle :-)

Just because I'm a fan of somebody, it doesn't give me the right to go up to them if I saw them in the street and rudely ask for a photo without saying please / thankyou. This is all his Tweet was saying. He's not saying he wont give it, he's saying you'll be disapointed if you're rude to him. Fair dues I, and any other rational human, feels.

While I do think it's really stupid to approach any wrestler (Or celebrity) outside of an autograph signing, I'm starting to believe Punk is Bi-polar when it comes to fans. He flip flops so much and always changes his mind on what is acceptable.

From interviews and what he's said on Art Of Wrestling. He originally complained about people coming up to him when he was busy and taking his headphones out etc., which is understandable. But then he laughed and made fun of people that saw him and asked if he was busy before asking for anything and were polite to him.

Should've wrote whether to call him Phil or Punk Seriously?!?!? It doesn't matter if your the most polite and respectful fan in the world. If Punk isn't in the mood, your going to be left feeling disappointed after meeting him regardless of your approach. I don't see why people make excuses for him. Yes, there are occasions when he's cool and will sign but the majority if the time, he's ignorant and rude. It doesn't matter what the approach or setting is. Summed it up perfectly. I still don't see why it matters, Wrestlers don't owe it to us to be nice to us in their personal time. It's their own personal time, and they can do whatever they want to do. You're 100% correct. He doesnt OWE me anything. Its about simple respect and courtesy towards a fellow human being. I'm a dick. But when I goto a wrestling show, I usually get 2-3 people that come up to me from WFigs, other message boards, etc. and introduce themselves. I'll shake your hand, say hello....but not always will I be very engaging, especially if I am trying to get an autograph, buy merch. whatever. Why? B/c its just common courtesy to your fellow man. I most CERTAINLY do not owe this person anything. I do it b/c thats how I would want to be treated. In addition, not signing an autograph or taking a picture isnt what makes someone a jackass. Being disrespectful and acting like a spoiled brat is what does it. " ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) off" is not an appropriate response to someone who says "May I please have an autograph?" Simple "No, not right now", "I'm busy", etc. are. Now of course, if you are someone that walks up to them while they are at the john, eating their meal or with their families.....thats different. If you walk up to me while I am at the urinal and expect a hand shake, you're gonna get " ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) off" too. We pay money to see them Wrestle and entertain us.. WWE pay their superstars to wrestle and entertain us. Not to sign items for douchebags who approach them in airports, hotels, gyms etc You seem to lack a business sense. Each of these talents are their own personal PR machine. When a fan asks for an auto or photo, this is a chance to sell them on being a fan of yours. Giving them an auto or photo is only going to make them purchase more of your merchandise. The more they buy, the more money you will make. These guiys are getting cuts from their merchandise. AND the more merchandise you sell, the higher you move up the ladder which leads to bigger contracts, more mainstream publicity and possible outside ventures. Exactly. Invading their lives is an overexaggeration. If you show up at their home and ring their doorbell for an auto is invading their lives.

I dont blame him at all. I prob still wouldn't wanna sign for people. Call it a dick move or whatever you want but when people are waiting outside their hotel it's as bad as being outside their house. If I happen to see them outside the arena its a different story

I think Punk has said many times he hates people in general, and I think it has a lot to do with the majority of them being rude. He doesn't wrestle for the fans he wrestles for himself. I don't see why people care if he's not nice to people.

All I really care is if he is nice to the little kids who look up to him, which I am sure he is.

If I happen to see them outside the arena its a different story People need to stop with the outside the arena stuff. 90% of arenas have private, gated parking. You dont see them outside the arena b/c they are too far from where you have to wait. It is more of an incovenience and thats why many of the times, they wont come over to sign, but will at the airport or hotel. All I really care is if he is nice to the little kids who look up to him, which I am sure he is. Not always. Seen him be rude to little kids and the handicapped before. And some of those times, he knew that the little kid was just being used by the parent to get autographs for ebay. In addition, there seems to have been a major incident in STL airport tonight involving a jackass fan and Punk. In the end, Punk took the dude's backpack and tossed it into a trash can in the airport. NOW THAT.....THATS COOL! ![8-)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/cool.gif)

Should've wrote whether to call him Phil or Punk He shouldn't have to. You never address a wrestler by their real name unless you know them personally. And sometimes even then, you'd be so used to their ring name, it doesn't matter either way. I speak from experience.
