Sorry Himmy Under a month to go now before the Football League season starts and in my opinion it's gearing up to be the most competitive yet, there must be a handful of teams from the Championship I can choose from that might finish in the Top 2 and despite being a Sunderland fan i'd rather watch Derby vs Charlton on the TV that I would Arsenal vs Chelsea for example, it may sound silly but the Football League is where real footie is played and I miss it sometimes tbf. Admittedly don't know much about League 1 this season apart from the obvious clubs like Portsmouth who may not even start the season. League 2 will be a decent watch like it normally is with clubs like Rotherham playing in their new 'New York' stadium and new investment who surely will be front runners for the title. N-power Championship opening day fixtures: Friday 17th August 2012Cardiff V Huddersfield 19:45 Saturday 18th August 2012 Leeds United V Wolves 12:45 Barnsley V Middlesbrough 15:00 Birmingham V Charlton 15:00 Burnley V Bolton 15:00 Crystal Palace V Watford 15:00 Derby V Sheff Wed 15:00 Hull V Brighton 15:00 Ipswich V Blackburn 15:00 Leicester V Peterborough 15:00 Millwall V Blackpool 15:00 Nottm Forest V Bristol City 15:00 League 1: Saturday 18th August 2012 Bury V Brentford Crawley V S****horpe Crewe V Notts County Hartlepool V Swindon MK Dons V Oldham Portsmouth V Bournemouth Preston V Colchester Sheff Utd V Shrewsbury Stevenage V Carlisle Tranmere V Leyton Orient Walsall V Doncaster Yeovil V Coventry League 2: Saturday 18th August 2012 AFC Wimbledon V Chesterfield Bristol Rovers V Oxford Utd Cheltenham V Dag & Red Exeter V Morecambe Fleetwood V Torquay Gillingham V Bradford Plymouth V Aldershot Port Vale V Barnet Rochdale V Northampton Rotherham V Burton Albion Southend V Accrington York V Wycombe Predictions for promotion/relegation?

Like I say I could predict a handful of teams that could finish in the top places in the Championship but a rough prediction would be though not even going to predict the outcome of the playoffs for obvious reasons, lol;
Championship: 1. Wolverhampton Wanderers 2. Blackburn Rovers ---------- 3. Bolton Wanderers 4. Middlesbrough 5. Cardiff City 6. Brighton & Hove Albion ---------- 22. Millwall 23. Barnsley 24. Peterborough United
League 1: 1. Sheffield United 2. Coventry City ---------- 3. Preston North End 4. Bournemouth 5. Swindon Town 6. MK Dons ---------- 21. Crewe Alexandra 22. Oldham Athletic 23. Yeovil Town 24. Portsmouth (providing they even start the season)
League 2: 1. Rotherham United 2. Chesterfield 3. Fleetwood Town ---------- 4. Northampton Town 5. Southend United 6. Bradford City 7. Wycombe Wanderers ---------- 23. Dagenham & Redbridge 24. AFC Wimbledon

As if you haven't even put Birmingham in top 6, we've got a stronger team that last season and playing a hell of a lot less games, I can see us getting 4th this season. Everyone is stronger, plus we don't know that Lee Clark is going to be able to get the same out of his team. Nobody has predicted Leicester will get top 6, despite the fact that the last time our manager got a full season with us we finished 5th with a side that had been created at a fraction of the cost, I didn't complain. Similarly Himmy doesn't care that I think Cardiff aren't going to respond well to what is happening off the pitch. You really shouldn't get your hopes up too much though, because no one has a god given right to a top-six finish, the Championship is going to be a lot more competitive than it was last season. It didn't look like we could finish outside the top 6 last year, but I ended up with egg on my face. You shouldn't count your chickens.

Yeah I agree, Lee Clark might of had a very impressive record for Huddersfield but it will remain to be seen if he can do it for Birmingham, a team that he hasn't had long to make it his own yet. You may have signed some quality Championship players in Darren Ambrose & Peter Lovenkrands but you've got to look at every other Championship team and they've signed players with similar quality - Wayne Bridge for Brighton & Jonathan Woodgate for Middlesbrough for example.

I fancy us to mount a decent play-off push. Not sure we've quite got enough to make the Championship though.

I know it was only a friendly but after seeing us smash Newcastle 4-1 at home yesterday and complete dominate them without Mason or Bellamy playing I am fancying our chances this season.
3 more signings to come in too apparently.

With just a day to go until it kicks off again think i'm going to revise my predictions for Top 6; think Leicester & Leeds will make the play-offs ahead of Middlesbrough & Brighton.
1. Wolverhampton Wanderers 2. Blackburn Rovers ----------------------------------------- 3. Cardiff City 4. Leeds United 5. Leicester City 6. Bolton Wanderers
Still going to be very tight though, teams that have improved massively in Nottingham Forest & Birmingham City, teams that have been promoted and have seemed to sign experience in Sheffield Wednesday & Huddersfield, we could be in for one of the tightest seasons in years.

Can't wait for the Posh game, enjoyed Sunderland and to some extent Shrewsbury, but can't wait for us to get back to competative football. Good win in the cup on Tuesday, 4-0 over Torquay. Starting to feel quietly confident about our chances.

Absolutely shocking performance in the 1st game against Huddersfield tonight. They were the better side, but we somehow won in the 91st minute through Hudson. Bellamy wasn't in the game at all. I'm Malky Mackay's biggest fan but our tactics were shit, they were all of last season too. I worry for us. But hey, 1 game, 1 win, top of the league haha. Let's hope we see some improvement.

It was a terrible game mind, I agree. Mind you Huddersfield had nothing to lose coming into the game. Can't argue with the 3 points though I suppose. I'm sure the performances will get better through the season for sure.

Good win for us, feeling confident about our chances still, hopefully we can get at least a couple of points from two difficult away games now.

Goal of the season already goes to Sam Wood. For anyone that didn't see it on FLS, he picked it up 40 yards out, flicked it up and half volleyed it in. He won't score a better goal.

Bit late but McGugan's goal against Bolton was Top Class Sure was, that lad has always got a great eye for goal. Only a matter of time before he gets taken by a Premier League team imo. The odds on him and Eagles to score the 1st goal caught my eye on friday, both were surprisingly 10/1, gutted I didn't put anything on.
