would i buy it probably for about $15-17, does he deserve it? no not at all How do you justify saying that? I would expect it comes down to at least one of a few reasons: He was a druggie... He was in wrestling too recently for some collectors to accept him as a "Flashback"... Or because: That's a huge exaggeration. Umaga had a classic match with John Cena (and almost everybody who faces Cena a few times ends up with a great match), but never did all that much else. I'd buy an Umaga Flashback tomorrow, but I can see why some people would place him very low down on their lists.

His matches with Jeff Hardy,Bastia, WM 23 Bobby Lashley and plenty of more of them were great. I not trying to say he was/is the best but he has had plenty of better matches then most people think.

Actually, I forgot his awesome matches with Jeff Hardy. Those were some of my favourite matches of that year, if not ever. Umaga was on fire in 2007. I was never a big fan of his stuff with Batista and Lashley, personally. I never liked anything Lashley did except that match with Cena on the same PPV where Umaga and Jeff had a classic.

Yeah the cage matches with Jeff were awesome and the falls count anywhere at Extreme Rules was nothing short of a classic. Jeff sliding down the stair railing onto umaga was insane.

With the exception of most of the guys wrestling in the 80's, I find buying any wrestler who passed on to be a little hard to do. I'd probably pass on this

there are plenty of guys who are more deserving then Umaga, any of his family members before him like Fatu/Rikishi , samu, head shrinkers, High Cheif... ..i never said he wasnt a good wrestler or that his matches sucked, but he simply didnt make a big enough impact in his short time as Umaga.. for example Shockmaster figure would sell circles around an Umaga figure bc of the Imact shockmaster made, Tho it was a Botch, people talk about that more than Umaga.... i feel bad for saying something like that towards that legacy

When Mattel makes every main eventer and upper mid carder of the 80s and 90s, a majority of the low carders from the 80s & 90s, a few "obscurities" through the year ( #ReleaseTheGooker ), celebrities who made a huge impact (Mike Tyson, Mr. T, Andy Kaufman) the biggest stars of the 70s (Bruno, Superstar Graham, Ivan Putski, Blassie, The Crusher), and Gorgeous George.. Then Umaga can be considered.
And by that time at the rate that Mattel is releasing legends, Umaga will be considered a real flashback, because it'll be 20 years after his last appearance.

Even though I enjoyed most of his in-ring feuds/matches, I've never owned a Umaga figure so it wouldn't be something I'd invest money into. I don't like how Jakks structure the size of the figure and I don't intend to see a Mattel version of that even if it's a bit better.

Something interesting about an UMAGA figure. Several months ago WWE MAGAZINE did an article on mattel figures. A-RY went to MATTEL headquarters and they went through the whole process of making his figure. In one of the pictures there was a big cardboard cut out of UMAGA in the background. I wonder if this was a reference for the design team while the are making a figure. I can only hope because I would love an UMAGA figure.
