I usually leave the boxes for later.... And then throw it away and keep the figure

Hell sometime I open them before I leave the store's parking lot. This way I can toss the garbage out there and not fill up our garbage

I will wait until I get home then open them. But some times I look at the figure in the packaging and I absolutely love how it is in the package, then I leave it MOC. Or if I think that figure is rare/have value in them in the future then I will keep MOC.

I just thought this will make an interesting topic. This goes out to people that take out they're figures from the package. When you guys buy/recieve a new figure do you open it as soon as you get home or do you wait until the next day so you can admire the figure in the box all moc? I do the latter, lol I dunno why but ever since I was a little kid, around tye age if 5 I began doing this, everyone else would rip open their toy straight after they leave the store, but I would just keep it in the box, admire it for that day and open it the next morning. I want to know if I'm the only one, or any other strange rituals you guys might have. I have always been a MIB collector. Even when I was little I liked to keep things MIB. |

I normally go home wait a little bit longer and then open it. And look at it for a while and then display it with the other Elites. And then I go looking for another one to buy next.

i have about 30 MOCs i can open right now..lol. just havent because im still wondering if i want to keep them MOC..lol. The hunger for figs is enormous. Addicted much..

If it's a pre-order from Ringside or something I open them ASAP, as I had to special order them and all.
If it's a figure that's been out for a while, I'm in no rush to open, and do so when I am bored of other things and need a good break away from screens.

As soon as i get home i open them. The only exception is E14 Bossman that my wife got me for our anniversary yesterday, i she gave it to me about 4pm when she got home and i didnt open it til around 11.

It all depends.
With Jakks I would buy at least 2 of the same figure. One to be kept in box and 1 to be opened. Only I wouldnt open them right away. I'd wait for weeks, months, years, I still have Jakks figures in a stack to be opened.
With Mattel though, since I wasnt a fan when they first came out I didnt get them all. And since I dont have them all and since they are expensive I dont keep them MOC. I have some that I havnt opened but I will eventually open them.

But what I do is I usually open the figures and then throw out the packaing and keep it seperate from my garbage, so as to not fill up the can with boxes. Later on I'll throw them away in some dumpster at a mall or something. |
