Morning everyone.
"For the past ten years, video content from WWE’s “Attitude Era” (1998–2002) has been edited due to a lawsuit with the World Wildlife Fund over the WWF initials. All WWF “scratch” logos and references to the initials had to be blurred or edited out. This directive has now changed, at least in part. In regards to the former “scratch” logo appearing unaltered in video packages in recent weeks, use of the symbol in flashback sequences is permitted after the organization’s legal proceedings with the World Wildlife Fund were settled in the last quarter. However, it is unclear whether the permission extends to complete matches and other archival footage. Meanwhile, WWE.com published a photo gallery Tuesday chronicling the long line of Presidents, Commissioners and General Managers that have ruled over sports-entertainment and a shot of Mick Foley donning a T-shirt with the WWF “scratch” logo on display is shown."
I know that the article says that it is unclear whether the logo would be able to be used for archive footage, but if it were, do you think WWE would re-release DVD's on speciality matches like The Ladder Match witch the logo not blurred out? There are some classic matches like Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit at Royal Rumble 2001 where there is a large blur throughout the match, I know it is something small, and chances of matches with Benoit in it are slim, but if it were done, would you like it? I wouldn't mind for it to be done, just wanted to hear your opinions.

They've been pushing the logo out there more and more, I'm guessing they're seeing how far they can go with it before WWF notices or maybe they've discussed it already and they just don't care anymore.

I doubt they'll re-release a DVD just because of that. A blu-ray release is something I see possible though.

It would be pretty awesome if they did. But, I'll settle for going forward with no blurs.

I really don't care about a little blurred out logo. Means nothing to me or my viewing pleasures.

I Could see a Blu-Ray re-release if they did.
Juice, I know it's a little blur, but after a while for me, it just gets so annoying when there are two guys to one side of the ring and there's a massive blur right behind or in front of them.

The blurs were never there before in the original footage, and try as I might, I can't help but notice them. They're distracting as Hell, and once you DO notice them, it's all downhill.
I'd love some re-releases.

the blurred logos never bothered me....its when they edit AUDIO, like when Heenan originallu said something like "this match for the WWF championship..." but he ends up actually saying "this match for the ___ championship" on the DVD....that annoys me

I have the Rumble and WM Anthologies though, and I am NOT about to rebuy them just for some uncensored logos.

It'd be nice, but I'm not going to buy a whole new Anthology set just to have it "uncensored."

It's pretty bad and really should have been handled a LONG time ago. It's okay when there's one or two logos but when signs, cameramen's t-shirts, announce tables, microphones, turnbuckles, ring aprons, audio commentary and stage signs all get blurred out then all that's left is a mess. EDIT for example: This is my point. Total garbage. Almost makes it impossible to watch. What a mess.

Would they re-release something like the TLC dvds or one of the doc. dvds of like Rock or Austin without the censors? I highly doubt it! However, I wouldnt be surprised if we got new anthology Blu rays that were unedited. I wouldnt even be surprised if they got the rights for Ventura as well as the proper themes too!

Looks like its getting better and better regarding the scratch logo and upcoming DVDs. Was watching the Most Shocking Ring Revelations on WWE.com and for the Alliance formation vid JR kept saying WWF and it wasn't bleeped out and it was great seeing the scratch logo on the bottom left corner and absolutely no blurs.
Looking forward to the Attitude era DVD coming out this year...if that will blur free and it is a definite must-buy.
As for re-releases...i could see them labeling it "collector's edition" with some extra matches or something for compilation sets. But i kind of doubt WWE will re-release all their DVDs in the last 10 years blur-free. Most likely the only re-release i see them putting out without blurs are the WM, RR, SSlam Anthologies (most likely on Blu-ray) and forthcoming releases. Possibly even the remaining SSeries sets.

I doubt we'll see any re-releases, but I could see it not being blurred in the future. The only re-release I could see is the anthology sets, but in blu ray form.

I could see the Anthologies being re-released and maybe some of their other more successful titles. The audio being edited and the image that BashcrashWiley posted a what I'm talking about.

I can't and won't watch the awful blurred footage it's to distracting... So I will purchase DVDs if it's not got all that BS in it.

I don't mind if they put the WWE Logo in the bottom of the screen as long as they show the WWF Logos and let the announcers say WWF
