Im sure all contracts are different. I dont know how Mattel runs but with Jakks *some* (one specifically) had to pay a small fee to have his figure made. Then after his figure was made he made back a certain percentage of the sales. That was with Classic Superstars. I believe it's probably the same with the Legends line as well where Mattel has to pay them for their likeness etc.

I remember reading a few days ago actually that Cena recieves close to 50%, believe it or not and Ryder recieves 10%. Keep in mind that is only from the profit of WWE, plus they are top merchandise sellers.
So lets say that a figure cost 10 bucks to produce and ship to the store. it sells for 18. so 8 dollars profit. lets say wwe gets half, so thats 4 bucks. So Cena(a rare case) would get 2 bucks, Ryder would get 0.40 cents. now a normal midcarder would just get 4 cents.

i just looked watch the kamala interview with Hollywood Jimmy part 1 on youtube thats where he talks about how they get paid for figures
