So Cedric Alexander is out for War of the Worlds, but ROH keeps emphasizing that Okada WILL be in action.
Pair that fact with this video:
I'm thinking we may get a triple threat for the IWGP Title.

It's ashame we don't get to see Cedric vs Okada. Could've been ally special! But I'm sure this 3 way will be freaking insane!

Apparently on a podcast, Court Bauer made mention of the fact that ROH is going to try and keep Saturday's show as close to 3 hours as they can in order to get ready for Best in the World on 6/22, when they HAVE to keep under 3 hours.
To me, I have no problem with that because a way to look at it, is that ROH is treating this as a PPV quality event (which it is) and also that it will encourage the wrestlers to "maximize their minutes" as the saying goes.

Really good show overall, I can't say I disliked any of the matches greatly which is hard to say for any show. I really hope New Japan come back next year for some more shows, and if possible a few of their guys appearing in other promotions like PWG.

Oh, so many things to say about tonight's show. I knew it was going to be a better show than last week just based on the card.Even a few guys that were a little disappointing last week stepped it up big time. Still one disappointing match on the card, but even that one wasn't bad. Just less good than I'd hoped. I will say even as great as the main eventwas,I was disappointed Cedric didn't get to wrestle Okada, with the path he's on, it could have been huge. But given the story lines it made sense to keep him out of a match, and the run in was nice. Also,I'm super excited for the return of Christopher Daniels. I questioned the other guy being Frankie, but I just read that his contract with TNA isn't actually up yet. If that's the case it makes sense to hide him for now. Bad influence against and of the ROH teams will be amazing. I really can't wait for that. Now we just have to wait and see if Sabin shows up
For my full breakdown (I don't know if anyone liked this last week, but I enjoyed doing it): IWGP HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin vs. Kazuchika Okada vs. AJ Styles (c)- Fantastic match. Three ways usually have the problem of narrowing to two people, but every time it happened in this match it was something that you understood them being knocked out for that time. Not to mention the commentators pointing out the strategy of laying low and picking spots. This worked especially well for the finish. Itwould have been nice if Elgin could have had his one on one match
ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Jushin Thunder Liger vs. Adam Cole (c)- This was the match I was most excited about going in. One of my all time favorites against one of my current favorites. Liger doesn't wrestle like he did in his 20s, obviously, but it's still hard to believe that man is almost 50. Fantastic match that had my eyes glue to it the whole time. The finish was the right one, and the lack of respect after really got Cole some heat. Great stuff.
ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP reDRagon vs. The Young Bucks (c)- Not thrilled that the Bucks lost, but I figured if any title changed hands it would be this one. Regardless it was a great match. All four guys were top notch. IWGP WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. The Bullet Club's "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows (c)- Not as wild as I was hoping, but still pretty fantastic. I was kind of hoping for a Briscoes win (figured this was the only one with even the slightest chance as NJPW belts go), but am not upset they didn't. The show of respect at the end was nice and showed that this issue isn't over yet. I'm happy about that as it means seeing Gallows and Anderson back in ROH. ROH World TV Championship KUSHIDA vs. Jay Lethal w/ Truth Martini- I'd seen KUSHIDA a few times before these shows and liked him, but these shows really made me a fan. He worked incredibly well with Lethal and I really hope we get to see him in ROH again, even outside of joint shows. It was a nice touch to throw out Truth, even if Jay still one. I'm still not a fan of Lethal Injection, but that's the only complaint I ever have about him, so it's ok. "King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura vs. "Mr Wrestling" Kevin Steen- After being disappointed with Liger/Tanahashi vs Nakamura/Gado last week, it was really nice to see everyone step up their game tonight. Makes me wonder more if there was some jet lag or issues working in the smaller ring. Steen and Nakamura were hilarious to start, then kicked it into gear later on, which is par for the course with Steen. Excellent match and the aftermath was really good. I wonder when Steen will be leaving, and if it's true he signed with WWE or if he's actually stepping away from wrestling for a while. Either way, the fact that he's going to make Young a star on his way out makes me happy. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Michael Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis- A lot of people complained about this match being made, because no matter how much he proves himself people can't accept that Bennett has talent. This was an awesome match, which I knew it would be. A little mroe interference than I would have liked, but it fits the gimmick, so it still worked. Takaaki Watanabe & The Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) vs. ACH, Matt Taven & Tommaso Ciampa- Very good six man. Not the best match on the card, but I enjoyed it. Gedo & Jado vs. Roderick Strong & BJ Whitmer w/ Jimmy Jacobs- This was the one disappointment. It was a good match, but there was far too many things telegraphed and too much of Jado and Gedo just standing on the floor. Jado waiting with the chair for nearly a minute for that spot was especially troublesome for me. I'm a huge fan of those two, but they really weren't at their best these shows. It's a shame, but that's how it goes sometimes. I loved Cedric's rampage after the match. It will be nice to see him get his revenge at BitW. I wonder who he'll get on his side to fight The Decade.
Over all it was an amazing show and I was really entertained throughout. I can't wait until Best in the World next month.

Yeah. I could see that they have to take the belts with them back and forth from ROH to NJPW. They like NJPW also

First ROH show in a long time and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a fantastic show and well worth the money. I know it ruins the specialness of the events happening, but I hope it leads NJPW to the US more often. It seemed like they really played into the crowd and liked that people know who they are over here. Interested in starting to watch ROH a lot more again.
