He looks a lot better without that half skullet though.

What an odd choice for World Champ. How odd? They've built Elgin's story perfectly and he's been pushed for over the last year or 2. I've just started watching ROH, and the last match I remember with Elgin, he was wrestling a Japanese wrestler. I didn't know he was in the main event scene.

ACH won Six Man Mayhem, to earn a future shot at the ROH Television Championship.
Jay Lethal defeated Matt Taven, to retain the ROH Television Championship.
Cedric Alexander defeated Roderick Strong in a Submission Match.
The Briscoe Brothers defeated Matt Hardy & Michael Bennett via disqualification. Nigel McGuinness restarted the match with a no DQ stipulation... Briscoes won.
Kevin Steen defeated Silas Young.
reDRagon defeated Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian, to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championship
Michael Elgin defeated Adam Cole, to become the ROH World Heavyweight Champion.

So you've seen 1-2 of his matches and that makes him an "odd" choice because of your lack of knowledge (not calling you stupid) on the history, or the guy's career?

He's really good, his work in PWG is really good too. I'm amazed as he's a bigger dude that can work a amazing match

Loved the main event, really hoped Cole would retain though - but I can live with Elgin as champ.
Also enjoyed seeing Bad Influence again, I've missed them so... reDRagon has grown on me a ton lately.
I thought it was a good show overall, and well worth my purchase.

I'll be honest. I didn't enjoy the show, the main event was really boring and I didn't overly fancy any of the other matches. I think ROH is lacking what made it different from "sports entertainment" which is pure wrestling, all the constant run ins, ref attacks etc. weren't a great part to add IMO. Things were looking up after the New Japan crossover shows, I hope this show is just a bump on the road and that they do get back to their roots of what made them great.

I really enjoyed the show.
Main event was amazing. I'm disappointed Cole lost, but that would have been true no matter how long he held the belt or who won it from him. Since it had to be done, I'm glad it was Elgin. I've liked the guy for a long time and he's been really cool the couple of times I met him. He deserves it. My only problem with the match itself was the way they did the interference. It makes sense to have happened, but for the heels to do so much before War Machine or MsChif, I don't know what took them so long.
I also loved the tag title match. I was really looking forward to it, and it didn't disappoint.
Steen vs Young was really entertaining. I've liked Young's character for some time, and tonight he really impressed me in the ring. I also liked the post match.
Briscoes vs Kingdom started slow, but got better as it went on. Especially after it was restarted.
I enjoyed Cedric vs Strong a lot. Not perfect, but very good. That back body drop was scary, and I hope it's not something we see often. I liked him using Strong's moves for the finish and that should play well into things as the feud moves forward.
Lethal vs. Taven was good, though I hated the finish. Taven losing focus the way he did and then just trusting that Lethal was out in position, where he hadn't been before, made him look stupid. Also the way he jumped into the lethal injection made it look fake. Of course, I have problems with lethal injection for that reason normally, but it was even worse tonight.
The six man was fun, but chaotic. I'm happy for ACH, though I was pulling for Ciampa. ACH does some really cool stuff, but he needs moree intensity. Anytime you see his case when he's wrestling, it just doesn't look like he's trying to fight.
I can't wait for the next show.I'm really interested to see what Cole will do from here. The second two time champ maybe? Or maybe he'll move on to bigger things once his contract is up as well. The sky is the limit for him.

Calcifer Boheme still not a Young fan but I like some of his moves, my favorite was the headstand on the top rope

As a guy who's been out of the regular ROH loop for awhile, I was thoroughly impressed with tonights show.
Watching that PPV tonight reminded me of something I sorely miss every monday & friday night....
good camera work.
You know, the cameramen actually showing the match and not constantly cutting zooming and panning for 5 minutes. The big moves that happen you actually get to see the move and not a close up of the guy followed by a quick zoom out after the landing. or following up and down every time a guy punches or kicks. this is an "amateur" wrestling company and THEY actually know how to properly film a wrestling show for the viewing audience.
Overall I thought the matches delivered. There were a few spots I was like "wtf, was that really necessary" but obviously ROH is trying to lure people in, so might as well sell it as all out madness. Some of the timing seemed off, but again nothing that really dragged the show down
If I was going to try and get someone into ROH or back into ROH I would show them this PPV and say "this is what you get with ROH....WRESTLING matches"

I'm just not a Silas Young fan. Wasn't for his debut during the HDNet days, still am not. That Indian Press spot is the only thing that stands out about him.

I loved the match and thought he did a lot of good stuff, not just the spots. Though my favorite of those is when Steen pulled his foot and he did a back flip getting up. I know not everyone will like the same guys, but at least you're cool about it.
