Kazuchika Okada has put on more top notch matches than anyone else in the last two years. Dude is amazing and the best wrestler around right now in my opinion. And at 26, that just means he is only going to get better.

I got into NJPW in 2011/2012.. but when my high quality, super convenient hook up for it disappeared and I actually had to look for it, or only see the shows aired on iPPV or (gasp) PAY for it from somewhere like IVP, I lost interest.

I spent all of July and August this year in Tokyo and went to my first ever live wrestling show (it's only taken me until age 24 to achieve this lol). I was at the 2nd night of DDT's Peter Pan show at the Ryōgoku Hall and was privileged to see Kazuchika Okada vs Kota Ibushi, something my brother who's into Japanese wrestling more than me is very jealous of lol. I took my girl friend with me and even she (who has never been into wrestling) had an amazing time. I also saw Harashima break Irie's record title reign and watched the blow up doll Akihiro win the Heavy Metal Title. Got myself a DDT shirt as well.

Probably the photo that sums Tokyo up best, the famous Shibuya crossing outside the train station. Okada vs Ibushi Me having a play in one of the Gundam Arcade Pods. Most of the photos we took are of pretty random stuff, these are just some of the ones that seemed to make the most sense out of context lol. |
