Of course they weren't helped by losing Garcia (good player) and Witsel (****), but were soooooooooooo bad against Spartak yesterday. Gaitan looked much better last year (though he has been injured). I've heard great things about Rodrigo, but everytime I've seen him play he's been rubbish. Eduardo Salvio looks like a top player, though, I'll give you that. Ola John is good as well, but for some reason is not getting given a chance. Love Dortmund so much, and glad they [deservedly] beat Madrid. Chuffed for Ajax as well. Don't get the credit they deserve these days, but they were top draw tonight. We all knew Christian Eriksen is class, but what a performance from Ricardo van Rhijn. Looks like an absolutely top player. As for Zenit, bloody hell. On the basis of Euro 2012 and having watched Zenit twice in the Champions League this season, Alexander Kerzhazov is one of the absolute worst strikers I have ever seen play at a top level. Hulk is absolutely crape as well. Been saying it all along. Take away his physical presence and speed and he'd still be lost in the asian leagues. One of the most over rated, overhyped players on the planet. Kinda wish Chelsea did spunk all their coin on him. Agree totally. Everytime I've seen him play he's just really greedy, misses a ton of sitters (though seems to blast loads in from long range) and is generally a moody ****. At least him and the money grabbing wanker Axel Witsel will just rot in the Russian league.

He totally lacks European school. He is not a top player like some said but he isnt has bad as he has played in Russia. Dont forget that almost all his team mates hate him...thats tough. Witsel is a great playmaker. But you are right when you say he is a grabbing wanker and i do hope he riots in the Russian League. Mourinho wanted him in Real if he waited one more year...stupid kid... By the way...you seem like someone who one can talk about football. Thats cool. Keep watching Rodrigo. You watched Benfica against Barça and Spartak which were Benfica's and Rodrigos worse matches this year. But keep an eye on the guy. Ola John is too much of a Dutch winger... he has no idea that the pitch has 2 sides...he only uses the one where his team is trying to score.

So it was worth spending all that money you didn't have then? Huh, this is the Champions League thread celtic played last night, Rangers never. As always though, there's only ever one club in Scotland on everyone's lips. YAWN......they aint on my lips.not likely to be either. thought Ajax vs City was a good match tonight too....... in great goal from Eriksen as well. everyone seems shocked about Arsenal except a Gunners fan I work with.......

While on the topic of Hulk I've been impressed by Porto so far.Jackson Martinez looks like a good player. As does Rodriguez and Varela. Can see them getting quite a bit money in the future for Iturbe and Kelvin. If Hulk and Falcao were still there,I reckon they could have a slight chance of wining it.

Well that's not a problem just with Porto... Imagine Benfica still with Coentrão, Di Maria, Ramires, David Luiz, Javi Garcia, Witsel... Benfica and Porto have that problem every single season. For example, Benfica and Porto get less money for TV rights than the clubs in the Championship... Its impossible to keep the best players that way...

The Liga Portuguesa doesn't get enough credit. In my opinion it is just as credible as Ligue 1.If Portuguese highlights were shown on mainstream British TV,I'd watch it.A good league that just lacks funds. If they had the money English teams do then back in 2004 if still led by Mourinho then Porto would of been just as good as 2009-2011 Barca

Porto for example. In the past decade they've spent less than 30mil Euro's on these 15 players: Carvalho, Paulo Ferriera, Deco, Maniche, Pepe, Anderson, Quaresma, Bosingwa, Lisandro Lopez, Lucho Gonzalez, Aly Cissokho, Bruno Alves, Freddy Guarin, Falcao and Hulk. All of them have been sold on and that has brought in more than 340mil Euro profit. Where does it all go?

You have to pay the wages and what they get from TV rights and sponsors is just not enough. The country has less innhabitants than London... Most portuguese teams sign players as mourinho says with peanuts and bananas. And they still perform decently.

What a result for Celtic, defensively outstanding. Made up for tony watt, he'll never forget that.

Is it me, or has this been the most open Champions League in recent history? Normally it's really boring, tight games. Goals everywhere you look this year. Chuffed Dortmund have finally decided to show up in the CL this year, as well.

by that was GREAT stuff from us. Congrats. You deserved to qualify by winning this game and in Moscow. As for us we just have to do our obligation and win at home the next game and hope for either us or Spartak to perform a miracle on the last matchday. We started to dig our hole the week we sold Javi and Witsel.

Braga are reeeeeeeally good ;[ we did ok in the end but first 60 minutes were so poor. 3 points all that matters though, we don't have a real CL game until February now.
