What are some notable occurrences of this? I remember Jericho once saying he had the flu during the famous WrestleMania X8 match vs. Triple H for the Undisputed Title, though it's hard to say for sure if he was in character during the time he said that as I can't remember if it was an out-of-character interview or a promo.

Bret wrestled the rest of his match with Goldberg with a concussion.

I've wondered this as well. Surely they have to get sick, maybe a flu, cold, whatever. Wouldn't it be much more difficult to breathe? Maybe affect their performance?

HBK against Sid a the Rumble for his WWE title rematch in San Antonio he wrote in his book he had the flu and like a 100 degree temp and the match quality really showed...
I would hope the WWE would provide flu shots to theri talent at the least and with all the overseas travel they do I am positive they get vacinations on a monthly if not weekly basis now compared to 15 years ago

I'm pretty sure every one of them has wrestled sick. These guys wrestle with injured backs, necks, arms, and legs. A bit of a cold or a temp is hardly a showstopper.

Orton claimed Cena sharked and puked during a house show match because he was sick.
Bret wrestled the cage match with Owen with strep throat.

I remember Edge was ready to vomit in his tag match with Mysterio against Angle and Benoit at No Mercy 2002. The one that would crown the first ever WWE/SD! Tag Team Champions. He talked about it in the post match interview on the DVD extras I believe.

In the No Mercy 2002 dvd Edge said he felt like was gonna through up across the front row cause he had fought the flu all week.
*Edit* I see someone beat me to that lol.

I've always wondered what would happen if that occurred Well after Bang 3:16 we know what happens when they have to pee. :x I also wonder this. I believe they try and hold it. My question though is for the marathon matches. I don't see how they both go over and hour without peeing or pooping. There has to be a trick for blocking it or something.

I can't remember anyone being sick, but Miz got my respect for finishing his match in the main event of wrestlemania with a concussion.
Also, didn't Kurt Angle have a serious neck injury going into WrestleMania 19?

How do NASCAR drivers go 4 hours without pissing or dumping? I get the sweating could take care of the pissing to a degree, but the dumping, idk.

I dunno if it was kayfabe or not but I remember reading Cena finished a match where he broke or fractured his neck or something.

I disagree on that one, but just my opinion. I've played sports with a broken finger, severely sprained ankles, and other injuries more painful, I even played hours after getting all my wisdom teeth removed...but put me in their with the flu and I'm a danger to myself and if professional wrestling, a danger to others. With the flu, they are light headed and this can cause serious injuries...ever have the flu and try to do too much? You'll probably pass out I know they do it while sick, but doing anything with the flu isn't easy.

I remember hearing that John Cena wrestled Brock Lesnar at Backlash 2003 sick with the flu or a cold.
