Anybody remember the NASCARS that were sponsored by WCW? Back in the 1990s Ted Turner when he owned WCW and Cartoon Network had sponsored a few NASCAR's I have two different diecasts of them. Also some of the wrestlers were featured on the cars. Here is what some of the NASCAR's looked like. #23 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Lance Hooper #81 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by the late Blaise Alexander. #9 Ford Taurus driven by Jerry Nadeau There was a lot of other WCW sponsored cars as well.

There was a #23 car ran by Steve Grissom. I remember having a 1:64 scale version of that one. There was also the same paint scheme on the 29 car at one point with WCW. The pic is the car I had at one point, given to me by my uncle. And Kyle Petty drove a #49 nWo car once. Here is a picture of that one.

How did they help lead to the downfall? WCW was a southern company, NASCAR was a southern sport. Good advertising on their part.

My mistake, I had the 29 then because the card that came in the packaging with the car had Steve Grissom kneeling down next to it.

There was a lot of WCW NASCARS I thought. Cause I have a toy WCW Sting one, and a WCW Halloween Havoc one on display.

In my opinion Ted Turner blew money on NASCAR's whose driver's never won a race except for Jerry Nadeau who won 1 race in a WCW sponsored car. That money could have been used to hire better writers and maybe less forgettable talent.

I had a couple of the 1:64 scale cars. I had the #29 Steve Grissom car, #49 Kyle Petty NWO car and then I also had a Black Slim Jim/Halloween Havoc car driven by Jason Keller. I think I had the #9 car but I cant remember.

I'm sure they tried to get bigger names, but at least their brand was still out there. Not the worst thing they spent money on.

It's not that bad compared to the United States Border Patrol sponsoring a NASCAR.

I know they sponsored several different drives, and had numerous color schemes. I know most if not all were in the "Busch" series not the main cup series. I don't remember the NWO car, or atleast I don't think I do.
I do remember as a kid having a computer game called Nascar Racing 2, and I made an NWO car very similar to that though. I was badass.

I loved a lot of those #9 Melling cars. There's nothing as awesome as Lake Speed's 1998 pink and blue Cartoon Network Happy Birthday race car, though. Nadeau's Powder Puff Girls car was also intense. This one looks really pretty (yeah, I like pink, wanna fight about it?): Also, Kyle Petty cuts a good 17 second promo at 1:20 here with the nWo. Lol.

You do realize WCW paid Russo and Farrara more to jump to WCW than they put into those NASCAR teams, not to mention WCW had as much talent as WWF, they were just playing to a different crowd. For a while WCW managed to get their crowd plus the hipsters who tuned in to wrestling just because. Austin took the hipsters away and and WWF exploded.
