I am glad people finally see what I have been saying for a while on here!! CM Punk is not good at all. His moves are sloppy most of the time, and that top rope elbow is the worse I have ever seen. You want to see a good top rope elbow drop then watch Survivor Series of last year and see Big Show do one. He did it perfectly. I think why most people say that guys like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan are the 'best' is because they are either ROH fans, or like most say, are sheep and follow the trend. I have seen Bryan and Punk wrestle in ROH, and I find their matches to be boring. I would gladly take Austin Aries as THE BEST wrestler in the world over Punk, Bryan or anyone for that matter. People forming their own opinion = sheep. Gotcha. Any other lessons for the class there professor?

I'm sure he knows he isn't the best. It's just a gimmick. exactly. He is still considerably young too, has plenty of time to cement himself as one of the best in the world in wrestling.

In my personal opinion, Daniel Bryan is the single best thing about WWE at the moment.
You can put him on RAW, Smackdown, NXT, SMS, or PPV at any point, in any segment or match, and he will either get one of the bigger reactions, the best match, or the most entertaining segment of the night.
The best thing, is unlike Ryder, his wrestling skills are part of his gimmick in the right fashion. Meaning that regardless what "sillyness" he is involved with, his skills in the ring are never lost in translation.
His match a few weeks ago is the best example of this. He looked very controlling and dominating against Cena, while making Cena look great in the process.

Yeah but by the same logic I'd have to admit that Justin Bieber is one of the greatest pop musicians in recent times because he's really popular and sold a s*** load of his s*** music. But I won't. In my opinion, and I'll sound like an a-hole now, there's just a lot of idiots who buy s*** music. Ya know? well, for mainstream pop, he is one of the greatest. in terms of actual musical value when compared to other genres, he's not worth a dime. once again, sales/etc is only one aspect to consider. beiber may make a ton of cash, but is his music considered revolutionary? anything new really? no. beiber could outsell michael jackson by a trillion albums, and still be nowhere near the level michael jackson, in terms of the full package for what he did, was.

I dunno about not being the "best" or whatever, but he has gotten EXTREMELY lazy since his feud with Daniel Bryan abruptly ended. Could that be because Danielson is "better"? Who knows.
I do know that I wasn't a fan of his repetitive "heel" gimmick of "I don't care about anyone, but myself" and so far I'm not liking this overdone "I'm the best thing going" heel schtick he's got going now.

I Frankly Daniel Bryan is a better wrestler I wouldn't even stop there. He's the all round better total package than Punk. He managed to get more over than Punk did in a quarter of the time. I would agree Bryan is a better all around wrestler, he can work a crowd like no one else today.

Justin Bieber is not really mainstream pop and certianly not the greatest of anything, his name is more known than anything he has actually done. Name just one of his songs, yea you cant do it and its not because his music sucks because I am sure you can name at least one Spears song. Bieber is just one of those music company products they throw out there to get loads of money from predictable teen girls that for some reason gravitate towards lesbianish looking boys. He will one day be soon forgotten once he starts to look anything that resembles at man.

I'm a punk fan but he is very overrated on the mic. His promos are repetitive. His "shoot" was more over due to shock value than substance. If he is this generations Piper as someone said, then that is not a good look for this generation.

All I'm saying is Punk is good, but he truely is not the best in the world and anyone who thinks he is, is blindly just following him like a sheep. That is all.Sweeping generalizations much? Jesus Christ.

First of all, I am a huge Punk fan. I've been watching him since about 2004, and was thrilled when he debuted on ECW in 2006. I've enjoyed everything he's done in his WWE run and I still am enjoying what he does currently. However, I just can't agree with his claims to being the best in the world. Especially Monday when he called himself the best wrestler, talker, and technician. His matches, while entertaining, are pretty much all the same. I know this is the case for most wrestlers. During all of Punk's face run, his matches all followed the same formula as a John Cena match. Take a beating, make a few false comeback spots, and then eventually hit the same exact comeback spot each match(Clothesline, clothesline, duck opponents line into swinging neck breaker, get them in the corner to hit the high knee/bulldog combo, springboard lariat followed by the GTS. Oh and let's not forget the elbow drop which usually looks like crap. As far as being the best talker goes, I do like what he says in the since that he doesn't resort to cheesy one liners and he speaks intelligently. But I don't really care for his same speal each and every week of him just bitching about how he is the best. Best technician? Hell no, not even close. Punk is not much a technician at all. All I'm saying is Punk is good, but he truely is not the best in the world and anyone who thinks he is, is blindly just following him like a sheep. That is all. im not reading 5 pages of arguing but will react to the original post. i disagree with your view of punk and his matches. I do, however, agree with your statement regarding his elbow. it does look like straight garbage.

I love Punk, one of my favorites of all time But in no way does he compete currently with many of the talents in DGUSA and PWG.

I believe punk is just in character. People complaining about how his promos are getting repetitive, no duh'he turned heel. Heels always say the same things to bug people and get heat. This story line is about respect because he is champ and is best in the world. So of course he is going to be repetitive.
Someone mentioned how it sounds like he like he is forcing himself to say stuff to sound heelish, yes it does, probably because he is following a script. Last summer when his infamous shoot aired, it was great and not forced. When he has the chance to speak freely he does, it also sounds good because he uses much knowledge of the business and what goes on in the industry today(when on commentary, he knew a lot.) When he was face, he was trying to play with the fans, it sucked and was sad to see, when he was talking about his life and other superstars, his voice would change and you can tell he was serious.
Punk probably also doesn't do the exact elbow drop because he wants to be different from macho man. Just like when superstars mimic each others finishers or moves, they do it their own way(The rock-ric flair, cena-the rock & punk, punk-cena). Remember it is a storyline!!! Although the WWE does need to let thir superstars be themselves.

Is he the best in the world? Probably not.
Is he better than most? Probably.
