WCWA Synthetic 18
May 10th 2006
The Orleans Arena
Paradise, Nevada
In the final steps before Delusions of Grandeur, WCWA makes one last stop for TV, Paradise, Nevada, just down the street from the site of Delusions of Grandeur, for a HUGE and possibly game changing edition of Synthetic, live on HBO!
WCWA World Television Championship Match
Beef Wellington (c)
versus
Michael "The Bomber" Facade
Michael Facade has yet to pick up a win in WCWA in ring competition, but in every outing, he's managed to impress management. He's impressed management enough that despite his winless record, he's got a shot at Beef Wellington and the World Television championship. This could be a HUGE match for Facade, as a win in this match will move him into the title versus title unification match versus WCWA International champion Tommy End, at Delusions of Grandeur. This will be the final defense of the WCWA World Television title, in it's current incarnation. Beef is looking to keep what's his and move on to bigger and better things at Delusions of Grandeur. Will Facade play buster?
Tag Team Match
Darin Corbin & Ryan Cruz (0)
versus
Tommy End & The Messiah (0)
The Messiah is looking for revenge against all of Joey Eastman Worldwide. On this edition of Synthetic, he recruits his friend Tommy End to do battle with Joey Eastman Worldwide's tag team of Darin Corbin and Ryan Cruz, the North Star Express. Points are on the line, with both men looking to get on the board. Both Messiah and End have to be looking ahead to Delusions of Grandeur. Will this be a big opportunity for upset for the North Star Express, to gain the first point for title contention?
Tag Team Match
Necro Butcher & Jack Evans (2)
versus
Nathan Kelley & Jimmy Jacobs (0)
The Necro Butcher and Jack Evans have two of the three points needed to challenge for the WCWA World Tag Team Championships. The only thing standing between them and a title shot at Delusions of Grandeur is this match on Synthetic against Age of the Fall members Nathan Kelley and Jimmy Jacobs, who currently have zero points. Jacobs has been mostly missing as of late.. but not nearly as missing as the Age of the Fall valet Lacey, who has completely disappeared, beckoning the announcers to ask the question, "Where's Lacey?"
One on One Match
Eddie Kingston
versus
"Sick" Nick Mondo
Two men heading for championship opportunities at Delusions of Grandeur, Kingston for the World Heavyweight championship, Mondo for the World Death Match championship, meet on Synthetic. This is a first time meeting between two very hard hitting, tough as nails competitors. Kingston has shown he's not afraid to shed a little blood to win a fight and Mondo is more than happy to treat himself like a Japanese kamikaze pilot for victory. One man will meet a massive bump in the road before their championship opportunity. Who will drop?
Special Exhibition Match
Shane Douglas
For the first time in several years on a national scale, Shane Douglas will be in singles action on Synthetic. In all his time in WCWA, Shane Douglas has had three matches. Two of which were mere comedy matches against Marty Jannetty, the third a loss with fellow WCWA locker room leader Bobby Eaton. On Synthetic, Shane Douglas looks to reignite his career as an active, in ring competitor, and will have a special attraction opponent.
WCWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship Match
Emil Sitoci (c)
versus
Lucky
They say if you keep taking beatings, things will eventually lighten up for you. It can't rain all the time. The sun will come out, tomorrow, tomorrow, and tomorrow's always just a day away. For Lucky, the sun may finally be coming up. He's not facing Claudio Castagnoli, getting his head knocked off by Eddie Kingston, getting destroyed by Necro Butcher, or anything similarly awful that has happened to him in his WCWA in ring career. This week on Synthetic, he faces someone very similarly sized to him, with the same trainer, Chris Hero, in the WCWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Emil Sitoci. And to make matters sweeter for Lucky, the championship is on the line! Lucky could get out of death forever and escape his inevitable beating from Brain Damage by locking in his place in the Junior Heavyweight division and capturing the championship. Emil Sitoci is not just going to give the championship away, though. A member of the Kings of Wrestling, Sitoci has proven himself almost as equally destructive as his massive counterparts. Instead of sheer force, he's adapted a flipping backpack lungblower piledriver that has given him win after win and put him at the top of the Junior Heavyweight division. Will Lucky finally get lucky? Or is he just going to get injured again?
WCWA World Tag Team Championships Match
Chris Hero & Chuck Taylor (c)
versus
SeXXXy Eddy & Joey Ryan (3)
The Necro Butcher and Jack Evans are looking to score their third point for title contention and while they are aiming for the Kings of Wrestling, it's not an insured match, because on Synthetic, Hero and Taylor will defend their championships against the odd couple of WCWA, the winners of the Lethal Lottery tag team tournament, SeXXXy Eddy and Joey Ryan. Eddy and Ryan are no friends of each other, but as a duo, they've proven effective, racking up three wins in one night. Will they be effective enough to knock off the champions, or will Kings reign supreme?
WCWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Claudio Castagnoli (c)
versus
Delirious
Eddie Kingston has his sights set on Claudio Castagnoli for Delusions of Grandeur, but Delirious has ONE HELL of an opportunity. He gets the chance to be the first to beat Claudio Castagnoli, something that people in 23 matches have attempted and failed to do. If Delirious can be the first.. he'll also become the WCWA World Heavyweight champion. The unorthodox lizard man may be the one with the key to do it, too, because there's absolutely no way for Castagnoli to gameplan for Delirious, because even Delirious doesn't know what he's going to do. This is a revenge match for Delirious following what happened on the last Synthetic, and could be the ultimate revenge. Will Delirious be "the one" to finally beat Claudio? Or will Claudio's massive size and power be too much for Delirious, like it's been too much for everyone who's stepped up to the plate thus far?
