Has there been any indication of when they may look to move the series into an end-game? I realize it's a cash-cow, but all the best shows seem to know when to call it quits rather than overstaying their welcome, and I feel like TWD has to be approaching that point. 8 season is a lot of television (and I certainly don't expect it to end after this season.) I know, of my entire group of friends, I'm the only one still watching. Everyone else quit. I’m the same way. I reluctantly watched the season premiere on DVR. It’s just more of the same. I’m over it. I’ve been watching since about when season 3 was airing(watched the first 2 seasons on Netflix to get caught up) and I feel like I owe it to the show to see it through. But I’m dangerously close to being done. I’m not sure if I’ll watch live anymore, and if I fall a few episodes behind, I may not even bother trying to catch up

Plus, the comics still haven't gotten to an end-game, either. I imagine they milk it for all it's worth, until ratings dip enough, or they start losing enough stars to wrap it up.

Timeline wise, how long do you think it’s been since Negan killed Glenn and Abraham to the current episode of season eight? Just based on Maggie's pregnancy I would guess 2-3 months. I'm going to say even less than that, I'd say no more than a month has passed?

I figured at this point that the show had done enough things apart from the comics that it wouldn't be all that strange if they had their own conclusion. I don't even want to imagine them going 20 seasons. To me, at some point, they're going to ruin whatever legacy they've built if they take it too far. Once you start getting past ten seasons, I often feel like shows start to become parodies of themselves. I'm still enjoying it for the time being (though I don't get excited about it anymore, it's just another show for me), but I could definitely see myself losing interest in the next few years.

Yeah, I don't want to believe that it'd actually get close to 20 seasons. The only show that I can think of that's actually been able to return to its former glory after 10 seasons is Supernatural. It doesn't help that everything about TWD is so formulaic every season. I'm kinda surprised more people haven't jumped ship on the show, tbh.

I just hope that if Father is gonna die, he takes Simon with him.

Do you think it’s possible for them to drag all out war, out for an entire season? Or do ya think Negan will find himself behind some bars at the mid-season finale? All Out War BETTER be a full season. Realistically, it should be two, but they have to rush things along to appease casual fans who just want the gore.

I just hope that if Father is gonna die, he takes Simon with him. I'd be content with Simon being the only survivor left by the end of the show.

Perhaps the crossover is the Hispanic family that left the group in the early part of season one. I have always wondered if they made it somewhere. We now know where one of them ended up...

"WE'RE GOING TO KILL ALL OF THE SAVIORS! Except for these guys, because uh... they surrendered. Even though one just faked me out and nearly just blew my brains out after pretending to surrender." Seriously, what the ? Stop trying to save people, Jesus. And Morales... uh, alright. At least we got to see some Crazy Rick come out tonight.

A fairly disparate episode after a great opener, with lots going on, but man...did not see that coming with Morales, who was from all the way back in season one.
If the walker without skin is what I think it is then hopefully we get to see something incredibly different to the vengeance theme.
The admiration and respect for Morgan and Ezekiel for their portrayals is off the charts, very enjoyable to watch them in their element.
Good to be up to date now.

In most cases I prefer the comic book version of the characters over the TV show version which probably explains why two of my favorite characters on the show are Daryl and Carol. They aren't in the comic. King Ezekiel is the exception. I absolutely love him on the show. So much more fleshed out than in the comic. A great character being played by a talented actor.

Well, Carol was in the comic but a drastically different version to the one we’re accustomed to. Similar to how Sophia is still in the comic but not in the show anymore. I’m up to date with the comic as well (read #173 last night). I can’t speak highly enough of Khary Payton’s portrayal, I find myself grinning like a fool whenever he’s delivering an awesome bit of dialogue. I imagine he’s the reason you are ‘King’, correct? 😀

As for the comics, I recently finished v. 28 which has me caught up to issue 168. I stick to the collected volumes rather than get the individual issues. It was my favorite six issue run since All Out War.

"I know who he was. Didn't matter. Not one damn bit."
Best part of the whole season, so far. Goddamn, Jesus is an idiot. "We can't execute them!" WHAT HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST THREE WEEKS?!
