If I were Rick, I would've negotiated to get those pictures back, too. God knows what Jadis is going to do with them later in the back of her garbage truck. And Eugene.

Usually I can think of something, but this latest episode didn't really enthrall me...maybe it wasn't supposed to...that being said though: - Simon Ogg is awesome as Trevor...I mean Simon...and good to see a bit of slight dissent between him and Negan. - While I think Negan is great, this was IMO not his best showing, in keeping with his character. Then again, who knows, I'm going off of my preconceived idea of what and who Negan is...JDM does a wonderful job though. Just not my Negan. - Gabriel was great, as was Dwight and Eugene. The tiff between Rick and Daryl was good and made better by them going their own ways. See how we go next week. Just survive somehow...not sure what else to say. ...same again this week, just didn’t really feel it with anything that happened. I feel like I’m watching moreso out of habit rather than being really intrigued with it as I once was.

I really didn’t see Carl getting bit coming. Such a huge departure from the comics.

I really didn’t see Carl getting bit coming. Such a huge departure from the comics. Actually, I'm not too surprised. Chandler has aged 8 years in real life while the show has only progressed approximately a year or two in fictional time. It would get harder and harder for grown ass man Chandler to keep playing the teenager role that Carl has in the comics, particularly if they followed the Whisperer storyline fairly closely.

I think Chandler Riggs wanted to leave for college.

From a show running standpoint, I can understand writing off Chandler's character because he is of the age where teenage actors are written off so they can pursue other interests or goals. But in context of the show, I'm really struggling to see this as little more than a shock value stunt. We'll find out where this twist takes us, but it doesn't satisfy much to me outside Carl's arc that just started this season and this show's apparent theme that people who have or adopt some sort of humanizing morality can't last in this world.
I enjoyed the episode featuring the downfall of King Ezekiel, and the Sanctuary bits were by far the best things about this half of the season. Mostly though, I have an unsatisfying feeling about "All Out War".

Well, . I thought those walkers were piled on top of Carl for a long time last week for nothing to happen. He actually grew on me the last couple seasons, but I am happy they didn't do some cop-out crap and kill someone minor or nobody at all. Rick is gonna lose his mind after this. Also, I'm glad to see Dwight's face turn coming along nicely. I do find it kinda absurd that Rick & Co. kill off almost all of their outposts, and a chunk of the main base, yet the Saviors STILL have enough manpower to attack Hilltop, Alexandria, and the Kingdom. But whatever. That's probably the first episode of the season I can say that I really liked.

Also, hilariously related to this, Chandler Riggs literally spoiled (or very strongly hinted at) Carl dying like four months ago with a reddit post.

Good episode. I had a feeling it would be Carl. The mid season premiere should be good.

Eh I’ve really not given the timeline much thought. On Talking Dead last Yvette Nicole Brown said something about time passing and Scott Gimble just kinda shrugged about it in a “I have no idea” sort of way. I think Chandler Riggs wanted to leave for college. According to an interview he said he had no intentions of leaving the show and even bought a house down in Atlanta. He said him being killed off is just for the sake of the story.

Yeah I'm seeing Negan and Eugene coming in with a full body blood transfusion and they save Carl and hence Rick is in debt to Negan and that's how they begin to work with each other.

Chandler Riggs dad is throwing a fit about him dying on the show.
Apparently they had told him they needed him three more years.

I know what Gimple said and all on Talking Dead, but he also BS'd about Glenn and the dumpster, so... Anyone think Carl got bitten by one of the Whisperers and he possibly just has a normal infection that can be cleared up?

Carol dying makes no sense now considering he has a huge role in the Whisperers story. The writers for the show are getting terrible and how the heck does the Saviors still have more people than everyone else when a bunch of them have been getting killed throughout the whole season.

I feel like I’m watching moreso out of habit rather than being really intrigued with it as I once was. ...and sadly not even this could save it, even though there were revelations galore, the biggest of course being Andrea’s death in the comics kind of being given to Carl in the show... Didn’t see Oceanside’s Natania carking it like that. Astounded how many Saviours there still are. Good to see Dwight finally stop playing both sides. We’ll miss you, Carl. How I would’ve liked to see how the thing with Lydia would’ve potentially gone down...

Honestly, I can't see the show even making it to the Whisperers arc...
I can't think of another show in HISTORY that went from being so revered and adored, arguably the biggest show on TV at one point, to basically "watching out of habit" (which I'm guilty of, like a few of the others guys have said.) Plus the Saviors have been around for almost a full TWO AND A HALF SEASONS at this point; talk about overstaying your welcome.
Gimple is to blame, I fully believe that... he pulls BS "stunts" and gimmick TV at the expense of the fans, who after one too many fake outs or gimmicks, just stopped caring. This newest one, getting rid of Carl, is the dumbest one yet. It rips the heart right out of the show, this journey for so long has been about Rick Grimes, and what he'll do for his family... who is now down to a baby who has never even had a line of dialogue in the show. He literally woke up from a COMA to find his wife and son, who are both now gone.
I think the end is nigh for the show. I really do.

The comics are one of the best things I’ve ever read. I loved the show and watched it religiously. So when I heard an amazing actor in Jeffrey Dean Morgan was going to play one of my favorite villains in history, I got so excited. And he nailed the role. But everything else dropped in quality. So much so that I’m a season and a half behind. The shock deaths instead of ones that make logical sense from a story point of view, the weak ass use of great characters like Tyrese and Abraham, and constant making Rick look like a ing idiot. I have no interest in continuing it. It’s such a damn shame.
