Honestly, I can't see the show even making it to the Whisperers arc... I can't think of another show in HISTORY that went from being so revered and adored, arguably the biggest show on TV at one point, to basically "watching out of habit" (which I'm guilty of, like a few of the others guys have said.) Plus the Saviors have been around for almost a full TWO AND A HALF SEASONS at this point; talk about overstaying your welcome. Gimple is to blame, I fully believe that... he pulls BS "stunts" and gimmick TV at the expense of the fans, who after one too many fake outs or gimmicks, just stopped caring. This newest one, getting rid of Carl, is the dumbest one yet. It rips the heart right out of the show, this journey for so long has been about Rick Grimes, and what he'll do for his family... who is now down to a baby who has never even had a line of dialogue in the show. He literally woke up from a COMA to find his wife and son, who are both now gone. I think the end is nigh for the show. I really do. And there's a 50/50 chance that baby isn't even his. The punisher is Judith's dad.

I had to come on here and be sure I wasn't go mad with regards to the shows dramatic fall from grace. It was literally the best thing I'd ever watched and it has now sadly become, as others have said, a bit of a chore to watch. They need an absolute storm of a second part of the series to claw this back now. Sadly, I can only see this tediousness and confusing state of editing continuing. It seems to take 8 episodes to get to a single point, at least that's what it feels like.

They need an absolute storm of a second part of the series to claw this back now. Sadly, I can only see this tediousness and confusing state of editing continuing. It seems to take 8 episodes to get to a single point, at least that's what it feels like. It really does appear that they approach each half season with a start and end point in mind and then stretch out the middle episodes to reach those points. It started after the Governor arc which played out organically and was quite satisfying. Everything after that has been built towards a dramatic premiere and a cliffhanger finale. I enjoyed this season up to a point but about halfway through the mid season finale I realized that we were basically going to return to almost the exact same point that the season started at: Rick and company are under the thumb of Negan preparing for some desperate battle to get the upper hand. If you're familiar with Ourobouros - the snake that is eating its own tale - that's what the last eight episodes were. The producers need to forget about premieres and finales. They need to go back to organic storytelling. Let the story determine the pace and if something dramatic happens in the middle of the season then so be it. It's not a bad thing. I have to agree with a lot of others: just how damn many Saviors are there? Rick and company have killed a ton of them yet they still have endless numbers to keep coming back for more. And lastly, please wipe out the dumpster divers. These rejects from a Mad Max movie are the worst group/faction/stable/whatever the show has introduced and they need to go away.

Tonight on The Walking Dead... Rick finally cracks after his son succumbs to a zombie bite. I'm still debating whether to watch TWD live and catch a replay of EC or vice versa.

Is the show still worth watching? I stopped watching around season 6 I think. It was right before Negan was introduced. I haven't heard many good things about the show since then and I just wanted to get everyone's opinion.

They're veering way off course from the comics now, hopefully that brings back the awesomeness.

Like most others I still watch out of habit, but 7 was God awful and 8 has really been like watching paint dry so far Hopefully it gets better

It feels like ever since they got to Alexandria it’s been a slow and steady decline....but I’ve watched since the beginning, and I will continue to do so lol

The best episode of the season so far, for me. Not that it was that hard to do, considering what they've done and how simple the show needed to be: the A story is Carl's sendoff and the B story is Carol and Morgan's rescue op. I did enjoy the effort to save Ezekiel. It has been the most believable "Savior killing spree" sequences they've had this season. Finally a return to stealth tactics instead of a bullet-riddled shootout in an outmanned and outgunned situation where our "good guys" somehow win out. Also appreciated how the Old Man Rick dream/fast forward sequences were explained, putting to rest the constant debates in my head. The "Uncle Negan" spot at end provided a necessary chuckle for me right at the last. Anyone know why Ricks hand was bleeding at the end? I couldn’t tell but it looked like a knife was stuck in his hand. Couldn’t really tell though. I am assuming that is a "true" peak at what is to come. We should see the full sequence by the end of the season. By reading the comic summaries from Wikipedia, I can guess where the blood comes from, though they only led to more confusion for me with the aforementioned "Old Man Rick" scenes.
