I'm surprised it took this long for them to figure out the walker guts/blood can cause serious damage even if not bit. I always wondered when they were "gutting up" or even killing them while having open wounds how that can't get them infected, good to see the logic in that finally coming out with Negans new Eugene inspired plan I think its more of a case that Negan is the first person twisted enough to actually carry through with the idea, although you make a good point about nobody who has covered themselves in zombie guts getting some in an open wound and getting infected.

It's pretty safe to say Gabriel's sickness ,and subsequent near blindness, was caused by when him and Negan gutted up to escape that trailer, especially because as they were doing it Negan asked "haven't any of your people gotten sick from this ?" But yeah other than that we've never seen it, and I'm glad as it makes total sense and will be really cool to see how Ricks group are able to combat against it

Very good filler episode. Not much happened, and yet so much happened, which is exactly what you need for story progression.
The guy that plays Gabriel deserves an Emmy nod for that performance this week. If he used his acting chops that well every episode, the dude would get lots of attention. I don't think the God leading arc was beaten into the ground. That episode was all about how one copes with fortune in the most unfortune of times. Every story told this week showed that.
Negan: finally figured out how to make lemonade out of lemons thanks to Eugene.
Eugene: got to freaking live because Gabriel lied to save his ass.
Maggie: got her doctor at the expense of Carter or whatever his name was dying.
Dwight: he now knows Negan's next plan, and if he can get away and warn Hilltop...well he's in the good graces of Tara and Rosita after last night. He may well not have Daryl that peeved.
The Morgan story seems to be taking shape about the way I figured it would. He's growing incredibly distant towards Carol and Henry. I'm assuming when the Saviors finally attack Hilltop, the guy who killed Henry's brother will tell him and Morgan will probably fall on the sword for Henry when the kid goes ape crap finding out Morgan lied to him, letting Morgan die and head out west back in time.
Enid and Carol's reactions to Carl were perfect. I'm glad they silenced Daryl's lines behind music, gave the episode more of a gut punch feel because now everyone important knows other than Ezekiel, who I imagine will be told off screen since he's hiding in Hilltop.
Good episode. Next week's should be action packed. The swamp walkers this week were creepy AF.
Also, question. Anyone know WTF happened to Heath? He's still AWOL after Tara's first run in with Oceanside.

Rick Grimes. Never misses a head shot on a walker. Can't hit a live target to save his life.
Very nice of the walkers to let Rick and Negan fight without trying too hard to bite them.
Most intriguing part of the episode was Simon/Dwight and the traveling band of the medieval technology handbook.

Simon has become more Negan than Negan. Did you catch the way he was talking in Neganisms before the attack on Hilltop?
The return of crazy Morgan, who has tapped into his sixth sense and now sees dead people. Not sure how I feel about that.
I'm finding it harder and harder to see a peaceful or even semi-peaceful end to the war. There's too many people who won't be able to forgive the transgressions of the Saviors - Negan and Simon in particular. Everybody has very personal reasons to want them dead. It's going to be interesting to see how or if the writers bring things to an end similar to the comics.

It's going to be interesting to see how or if the writers bring things to an end similar to the comics. Showing Simon as a power-hungry bunghole is kinda the point. Where Negan always claimed he only wanted peaceful, yet obedient, compliance under his leadership, Simon feels Negan has become weak and ineffective. Simon wants to do what he believes is the best thing to do: wipe out any resistance instead of placating them. I'll guess Negan will reemerge from Jadis's capture to confront Simon, with Dwight being there to ultimately sell Simon out. Negan is being positioned as the lesser of two evils here on the Saviors' side, from which Rick will have to deal with eventually (likely choosing not to kill Negan thanks to lessons of poor Carl). Whether or not that "new Negan" meshes with the one we were first introduced to where he seemed to welcome the challenge of personally breaking the spirits of Rick and the group, I'll leave up to you. Also, Morgan seeing Gavin postmortem is nothing new. During the prison era, Rick confronted the ghosts of Laurie and Shane. Nothing but visual manifestations of them confronting their stress and any guilt they hold over recent events.

Ads are promising that next week's season finale will be the end of the war. I hope so. It has gone on just long enough. End it now and close out the season without a freakin' unnecessary cliffhanger please. Just in case peeps haven't watched because they went to bed after the seven hour marathon WrestleMania... Big question from today's episode, which is scarier: psychopath Simon or zombie Simon?

I wasn't thrilled with how they ended the war. Basically, everything everybody did for the past one and a half seasons amounted to a big fat load of nothing except for Eugene manufacturing defective bullets. Yay for Eugene but way to make the rest of the group look like morons.
I haven't been the biggest fan of FTWD - I thought the whole arc with the stereotypical native americans fighting over stolen land against the stereotypical cowboys was an insult to my intelligence. The new season is off to a much better start. Bringing Morgan over was cool and I really like the two new characters we met, particularly the far too likable John Dory who, if they live up to their standard that the moral compass always ends up dead, is almost certain to bite it far too soon. I'm a Jenna Elfman fan so I can't wait to meet her new character too. As for the old familiar cast, apparently enough time has passed that they are gonna' be completely different people which I think is a good thing as I didn't like any of them by the end of last season and was cheering for the zombies.

I enjoyed the finale last night. Can't wait to see what Fear brings this season.
