I need more back and forths between Judith and Uncle Negan. I love how she doesn't take his crap and can trade wits with him.

Yeah, last night just didn't work. I don't care about any of them. I did enjoy Carol doing what she did. And the Whisperers at the end was cheesy and that's saying something about a show with zombies trotting about. lol I'll give it till the end of the next season till the "Break in case of Emergency" glass box with the phone to Andrew Lincoln is smashed. Once that armored car is backed up to his door and the money just starts to pile up in the foyer, he'll resign for a limited amount of episodes.

I enjoyed the episode last night. However, Rosita and Gabe being a thing is the most immersion breaking thing I've seen in the show so far. Can't blame Eugene for taking a shot if she's willing to settle for him.

Mid season finale was incredible. That death at the end was so creepy and unexpected.

That actor who plays "Jesus" is VERY happy to be killed off in the show. He was upset that the TV Jesus isn't as bad ass as the comic book one. He has a point. But they threw all that stuff out a long long time ago. It's all about "GIRL POWER!" now. lol

Wasn't a fan of Jesus dying, the character had great potential in the show but was ruined by bad writing.

TWD has gone downhill.
Carl is gone Rick is gone
That's two major components of the comic book's success - the story of what one man will do to keep his family alive in the apocalypse. Without them, the other characters have to step up to fill roles. They haven't. Instead this season we got:
Our heroes treated the ex-Saviors not much better than Negan did, in fact worse because they let them die out when the ex-Saviors wouldn't be their slave work force after being treated so badly. They were not given food and their members were being murdered with no investigation. Remember, most of the so called saviors were as much victims of Negan as our heroes, forced to work as his slave labor for measly pickings and were constantly abused by Negan's right hand men. Did they deserve to be left to die? I don't think so. This was a direct contrast to the post All Out War goings on in the comic where the Sanctuary becomes a part of the four communities, albeit with some problems but none that they couldn't overcome without wiping them out.
Dwight is missing Maggie is missing Michonne has become a paranoid b*tch Carol is a cold blooded murderer Daryl is back to mopey loner Jesus is gone King Ezekial is whipped boy toy The new star is an angsty teenage kid who can't handle his liquor The most promising new character, ten year old Judith, got five minutes of spotlight time and then disappeared Gabriel and Rosita are a couple? WTF Aaron and Eugene are just sort of there
Do I have to go on? It's depressing how far the show has fallen with the exit of a few key stars and a change of show runners.
Negan is the only standout as a character who remained interesting. I think the success of the second half of this season will ride on what they do with Negan and how well they tell the story of the Whisperers.

King Richius I can understand the pessimism for the show lately. Carl had such a meaningless and forgettable death last season. If they were gonna write the character off, they could have easily done it to spark some major story; what a waste. Haven't read the comics but there is a definite hole in the show without him. And the Savior bit this season was utter bullcrap. No one could get past their own feelings to try, not even to help the ones who were attempting to earn their place in the world. I saw Rick's loss as the punishment for that, but apparently no one got the memo if they just left the Sanctuary to waste anyway. Oceanside needs to be wiped off the Earth for their part, in my opinion. Kinda glad Maggie is outta the picture too, though she could pop back up at some point. As for the time jump storylines, there are some patches needed that seem to have been promised. Michonne must have went off the rails after losing her hubby, thus the isolationism amongst the groups. Gabri-ta I don't have as much a problem with it as others do. Gabe helped Rosita out after Abraham's death when she had a death wish. I figure Rosita was similarly Gabriel's rock after Anne/Jadis left out, and something sprung up from there. Aaron will get some time to shine. God, Jesus was a character brimming with promise on the show. Like Tyreese, Bob, and early Sasha, I hate to see him go out without having much of his awesomeness showcased. And yes, Negan has to step up and be the star of the show now. He was the highlight since his debut, for me especially. No other choices for the writers to make now. Hitch the wagon to him because no other person can do this.

I did watch the mid-season finale...on Monday. lol And it was pretty cool at the end, but it needs a hell of a lot more then that to get me to be interested again. I'll still keep it on the DVR schedule and only watch it if I hear something cool went on but I won't make a point to sit down with a bowl of Frosted Flakes to watch it on Sunday night.

And when they did it was so unsatisfying that I haven't watched a single second since.

Mid-season premiere was pretty good in my opinion. I wonder if when the time comes, if the spikes will be the same as the comics or different.

We finally saw the first solid signs of a turn to Uncle Negan, but I was kinda hoping to see an interaction between him and the Whisperers. It will be interesting to see paranoia creep into the groups again as it was in the beginning, where they are unsure whether what's around the corner will be the end.

I thought the mid season premiere was good not great but keep me interested enough to keep watching. Negan and Judith is the best part of the show for me right now I hope they continue to get these types of scenes together until Negan is needed to help with the Whispers(or maybe even him helping to save Judith's life). I like the direction they sent Daryl in now with using his brains more with the shooting the walkers in the leg to see if they're really walkers or Whispers and using Henry to get info from Lydia when he seen playing the bad cop wasnt gonna scare her. Speaking of Lydia the actress that plays her was great, I really hope that was something she can keep up if she stays a regular on the show. Negan's day out was great too,I loved the scene where he was at the place he killed Gleen and Abe. I hope they do a lot more with him this half of the season instead of just throwing him back in the jail and him having talks with Father Gabe.

I thought for an obvious filler episode it was a decent enough job at providing backstory to just how crazy Alpha is and slowly peel away at Lydia's character. I hate how they did a great Negan/Judith story last episode and then in typical TWD fashion neither he nor Judith appear in the following episode.
