Ouch, that sucks! I don't think that belt will go back to its original condition but the best you can do is repaint it. I'd suggest taking the plates off, make sure the surfaces are smooth, and then spray paint them in gold. A few dabs of red on the rubies will finish off the right look. Finally, to seal them and get some of the shine back, spray the plates with GlossCote or varnish before reattaching them to the belt. It probably won't look the same but it may help restore it a little and not make it a total loss. I hope this helps!
