i might get fired over this but it..I work backstage for the WWE and I can tell you that this and so many of the other stories posted is 100% bullshit, they don't know about how this business works and I hate to break it to you guys, but I've forgotten more about this business than you guys even think you know.

Tomko: Nope. I haven't seen this posted on F4W at all, not even mentioned by Dave Meltzer, so I don't believe it.

Yeah, I instantly thought Punk, but we have seen some weird sh*t with Cena over the last several months. Most notably the whole thing at Extreme Rules. I think Punk's segments with Heyman have been the only good part of the show, so unless he is talking the overall product then I lean towards it being Cena, who we have heard say himself he is tired of his character.
Regardless, if it invokes change then I don't care who said it. I think Vince has been out of touch for a long while now and he needs to do something while he still has all of Punk, Cena and Orton in their prime with so much great midcard and upper midcard talent virtually going to waste right now. Not to mention, we have waited over a year to see Ambrose vs Rollins on one of the main shows, and Kassius Ohno, who was born to cut relatable promos for a 2012 WWE audience, is just sitting down in FCW/NXT.
Wrestling is so different in 2012 than what Vince, or even the big time WWE fanboys are willing to admit. We, as fans, love guys like Ziggler, Punk, Bryan, and we applaud them for their talent. Gone are the days where a Hulk Hogan type can get over with no work rate and a Saturday morning cartoon smile. We have seen so much as fans over the last 20 plus years that you can't continue to cycle out gimmicks and cookie cutter storylines and expect us not to remember. I mean seriously, WWE created the video library that lets us remember nearly everything that ever happened with the top guys.
I just don't think that WWE should be targeting their product at mindless kids right now. That's not where the demographic is the heaviest imo, and it's been that way for the last few years. This has nothing to do with PG but everything to do with recognizing that your audience isn't intellectually- disabled. I know I say this ad nauseum around here, but I get the most frustrated with WWE when they undermine my intelligence. Challenge the viewer and do something different. Start a revolution, like we were on the verge of seeing during the Summer of Punk II, or at least get us out of this rut by working the internet and trying to surprise us.
WWE has just gotten fat, dumb and happy imo, and eventually, it was going to take its toll on the ratings. The market is over saturated with WWE product, ask me which day of the week I can't catch WWE programming between the first air shows and replays, and the content feels recycled. Push the envelope, lead the charge, and remind people why they love pro wrestling by setting the trend, as opposed to reverting back to 1988. I know it's a rant on def ears, or preaching to the choir in some cases, but I've felt like Vince has been the problem for awhile now and I hope instead of getting butt hurt about it that he takes it as a personal challenge to do something people haven't seen before.

I think its bollocks, watching back the Punk/Vince match JR uses the exact term "hell in a handbasket" after Vince jumps over the announce table on to Punk.
I wouldnt be surprised if this happens though but in a more conversational manner between the bigger stars and Vince though.

My guess would be Cena (if this is even true).
I honestly don't see what is wrong with the current product besides John Cena doing the same thing over and over and over again. He is probably bored.

This is precisely my biggest gripe with the company especially during the "Social Media Era" Every single time Jericho was in the ring Cole HAD to tell us "he was the first undisputed champion in history!" First of all, anyone who is a FAN already knows this...you don't need to sell Jericho to us...and those who are too young to understand DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THE UNDISPUTED TITLE WAS so it doesn't mean crapto them either. That's just ONE example of the childish garbage that is spewed at us on a weekly basis. Like only people who are 16 & under watch the show....yet look at the ratings breakdown and the highest % is 18-49. They really need to stop treating us like we are babies who don't watch on a weekly basis, and don't know our history.

I doubt it was Punk. The crowd was hot all night and even chanting "This is awesome" during the Vince vs. Punk match.
Hopefully it was Cena which means we can drop the cancer gimmick.

Yeah..... I don't think if you really worked for WWE and you thought telling us would get you fired that you'd actually do it......

(if your being serious ) As stale as Cena is I dont think dropping the cancer gimmick will be a good thing. Its not even really a gimmick, its actually a good cause so dropping it would be not only bad publicity but it would be just plain bad. Its awesome that WWE is doing the cancer thing and I hope people actually put money in to it the same as WWE is, not only buying Cenas pink gear or whatever but actually donating to it themselves.

Cena and Punk have a nice place in the company.
I would say Orton.
