[/b] It's been rumored for a while now that WWE officials have been trying to get Bret "The Hitman" Hart to rejoin the promotion. WWE have been deep in negotiations with Bret for several weeks now. It's understood that Vince and Bret are finally ready to bury the hatchet but it's unknown whether the same can be said about Shawn Michaels. Bret is apparently reluctant to patch up things with HBK. WWE have been using Chris Benoit as a kind of spokesperson for the deal, trying to get him to convince Bret to come back as the two are fairly close. In fact, Bret was one of the first to congratulate Benoit on his world title victory at WrestleMania.
If a deal is agreed, expect the return of Bret to take place at Backlash, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. WWE reportedly want The Hitman to be the referee for Chris Benoit's first PPV title defense. A DVD and merchandising deal is also in the works. One of the major reasons WWE want Bret back is to fill the star power void on RAW. The departure of Bill Goldberg earlier this week was seen as a big blow and Vince McMahon is eager to replace him with another big name draw. As for wrestling, Bret is said to be very apprehensive about stepping in the ring again only two years removed from his stroke. If Bret does wrestle, it would likely only be a match against Vince McMahon himself. Bret and Vince are set for a meeting this Saturday at WWE Headquarters, hopefully we'll have more details on this huge breaking story later this week.
- WWE SET TO SIGN FORMER WCW CHAMPION? In another piece of major news, WWE are reportedly set to sign former WCW star Steve Borden aka "Sting". Sting has been in talks with both WWE and NWA:TNA for a while now, and he's close to deciding which company he wants to join. Jeff Jarrett has been making a huge play to land Sting, who briefly appeared for TNA in 2003, but the big payday and a promise of a huge feud with The Undertaker from WWE may be too much for Borden to resist. Sources close to him insist that he hasn't made his mind up yet, but we understand that Borden is heavily leaning towards joining WWE.
The deal isn't done yet but Vince McMahon has been talking to Sting on the phone, trying to iron out any issues and calm his fears about how he'll be used. It's no secret that Sting came close to joining the WWF in 2001 but didn't over fears about how they would use him. He was very upset at how the WWF used his former fellow WCW stars like Booker T, and feared he would be treated the same. If Sting does sign, it will be a one-year deal with a view to a second year. WWE had big plans for Brock Lesnar on SmackDown for the upcoming year but after his departure, WWE want to help fill the gap Lesnar left by putting Sting on SmackDown. This would also help build to a future feud and big money match with The Undertaker, possibly at WrestleMania 21.

seems strange and relatively vague. will have to look at this again and see where you go with it. should be cool to see Sting in a WWE scenario can't wait to check back.

As unrealistic as this may be, give me Benoit/Hart vs. Hunter/Michaels at Backlash, and Eddie vs. Sting at Judgement Day and all is good

So your version of 2004 involves Bret Hart coming to Raw and Sting coming to Smackdown?
Sounds pretty intriguing, I'll give you that. We'll have to see how it plays out but I know I'm going to be checking this one out.

I'm gonna need some more details to see how this works out and base an opinion on it. But right now, it looks interesting in a strange fashion.
I heard you haven't posted a diary since 2008, so welcome back I guess! (I was only starting around 2008 time, so I can't say we've encountered one another before)

You're gonna make Bret wrestle less than 2 years after his stroke? You're gonna knock the poor guy intellectually- disabled.

Highly unrealistic, but that's sometimes a good thing for creativity. I'll definitely be checking back for updates.

WWE HEAT TAPING RESULTS: 1) Tommy Dreamer def. Steven Richards 2) Molly Holly def. a local competitor 3) Chris Jericho def. Lance StormMARCH 15, 2004
WELCOME TO RAW - Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to RAW live from East Rutherford, New Jersey just one night removed from WrestleMania XX. They hype up in particular Mr. McMahon's major announcement and the fallout from the Triple Threat Match last night.
CHRIS BENOIT IS CONFRONTED BY SHAWN MICHAELS AND TRIPLE H - As JR and King continue to speculate about the announcement later tonight, the new World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit makes his entrance to a warm reception. Benoit gets on the mic and says he'll keep it short and sweet. He thanks everyone who has helped him get to this point and for never giving up on him. "CHRIS BENOIT IS FOR REAL!" Just as this is said, he's interrupted by "Sexy Boy" as Shawn Michaels makes his way to the ring to a mixed reaction. HBK grabs a mic and congratulates Benoit on beating one of the best in the business, Triple H last night. "However, you didn't beat me!" This is greeted with another mixed reaction. Benoit says that all Michaels has to do is name the time and the place, and he'll make Shawn tap out just like he did Triple H! Benoit and Michaels stare each other down but before they can get into it they are interrupted by The Game himself. "You tapped out!" chants reign down on Triple H as he begins to talk. He says that he doesn't give a damn what anyone says, he's still the best! HHH reminds everyone that before we can see Michaels/Benoit, he is entitled to his rematch. Triple H cheap shots Benoit with the belt and stomps on the new champion but Michaels quickly intervenes and sends HHH out of the ring with a clothesline. HBK skins the cat and prepares for some Sweet Chin Music on Benoit but it's avoided and Benoit knocks Michaels down for a Sharpshooter! The crowd roars, but Shawn is able to escape and exits the ring. HHH stands on top of the ramp staring Michaels down as Chris Benoit stands in the ring with the World Heavyweight Championship proudly raised in the air!
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
EVOLUTION SPEAK TO ERIC BISCHOFF - Eric Bischoff is in his office talking to Jonathan Coachman and his apprentice Johnny Nitro when Evolution barge in. Bischoff tries to congratulate them on their victory last night but HHH is not happy and demands to officially be named the No.1 Contender. Bischoff tells him that he needs to review the situation first. As for tonight he's booked a match for the main event, Triple H & Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels & Chris Benoit. HHH looks angry and leaves as Orton follows, but Bischoff keeps Flair & Batista behind. As a reward for last night's win, Batista & Ric Flair will meet RVD & Booker T tonight for the World Tag Team titles. Flair and Batista seem pleased and leave the office.
1) CHRISTIAN (w/ Trish Stratus) vs THE HURRICANE (w/ Rosey) - Christian and Trish came to the ring holding hands and acting smugly. During the match, Trish tried to distract the referee in order to give Christian the advantage but Rosey stopped it. Good, surprisingly competitive match. Trish eventually distracted Rosey long enough for Christian to hit the Unprettier and pin Hurricane for the win.
CHRIS JERICHO ATTACKS CHRISTIAN - Suddenly, out of the crowd like a man possessed is Chris Jericho! Y2J jumps into the ring and takes down Christian! Jericho batters Christian with a barrage of punches. Trish Stratus tries to attack Jericho but Y2J grabs her by the hair. He puts her in the Walls of Jericho, but after just a few seconds Christian comes from behind with a chair cracking Jericho on the back. Christian then sets up Jericho and hits the Unprettier on the chair! Trish and Christian make out again as Jericho lays downed on the canvas.
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTIAN AND TRISH - Jonathan Coachman is standing by with Christian and Trish Stratus. Coach sucks up to them both, then asks Trish why she screwed Jericho at WrestleMania. Trish says that she screwed him, before Jericho could screw her. Christian says that they'll explain further next week, but before he can talk further Chris Jericho attacks again! Jericho holds his head as he chases the pair away through a door and out the arena. The camera zooms in on a furious but injured Jericho before we head back to ringside.
2) THE DUDLEYZ (Bubba Ray & D-Von) vs CADE AND JINDRAK - JR and King mentioned on commentary that the winners of this match would face whoever the World Tag Team Champions are by the end of the night, next week on RAW. Cade and Jindrak tried to isolate D-Von, utilising timely tags. The hot tag was made to Bubba though and the end was near. The Dudleyz hit the 3-D on Cade and Bubba got the pin to become No.1 Contenders.
STACY KEIBLER & MISS JACKIE TALK WITH BISCHOFF - Eric Bischoff and Johnny Nitro are seen in the RAW GM's office when Stacy Keibler and Miss Jackie interrupt, bickering on the way in. Both women are arguing over last night's loss to Torrie Wilson and Sable. Bischoff tries to calm both of them down, when Nitro pipes up with a solution. He whispers his idea in Bischoff's ear. The RAW GM looks delighted and proudly announces that tonight, Stacy Keibler will take on Miss Jackie....in a Lingerie Pillow Fight! And that match is next! Stacy and Jackie storm off. Bischoff then informs Nitro that since he came up with the match, he will be the special referee! Nitro and Bischoff shake hands and smirk as we fade out.
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
3) LINGERIE PILLOW FIGHT - MISS JACKIE vs STACY KEIBLER - The apprentice Johnny Nitro is our special guest referee. Stacy and Jackie take off their robes and get on the bed. They start hitting each other with pillows when suddenly....
MR. MCMAHON MAKES HIS MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT - The boss himself struts onto the ramp, arms outstretched as Nitro and the girls look on. The Chairman is carrying a mic, and thanks Stacy and Jackie for a great few moments. He then tells Nitro to get the hell out of here before he's fired! Vince says that there's been a lot of rumors the past 24 hours, and he's here to address one of them. "WE WANT BRET!" chants erupt. Vince lets out a sly smile, then says he's not here to talk about that. He's here to announce that next Monday on RAW is Where It All Begins Again! One week from tonight, there's going to be a Draft Lottery. Each brand will take turns randomly selecting draft picks, until each brand has acquired 5 superstars each. Both GMs will be able to make trades within the 24 hours following the end of next week's RAW. Vince wishes both Heyman and Bischoff good luck, before exiting to the backstage area.
INTERVIEW WITH RANDY ORTON - Jonathan Coachman is standing by with the Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton. Coach tries to ask Orton about what Mr. McMahon just said, but Orton said that's not important right now. "Last night, I KILLED the legend of Mick Foley. Once and for all." Orton says that he's heard rumblings that Foley is here tonight and that when he and Triple H win in tonight's main event, he wants Foley to come to the ring and raise his hand. "That's if, Mick Foley has the guts!"
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
4) WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - BOOKER T AND ROB VAN DAM (c) vs EVOLUTION (Batista & Ric Flair) - Really good back and forth match. Flair used all the dirty tricks to try and get an advantage, and the power of Batista was too much at times. Some good teamwork from Booker & RVD swung the match back in their favor though. Flair almost got the pin on RVD by using the tights for leverage but Van Dam managed to kick out. Finally, Booker T countered a Batista spinebuster into a DDT, with Van Dam hitting the Five Star Frog Splash immediately afterwards. RVD pinned Batista to retain the titles.
MOLLY HOLLY'S NEW HAIRCUT - JR and King begin talking about Molly Holly's head being shaved last night at WrestleMania, until we cut backstage to Molly (wearing a wig) walking cautiously around the backstage area. Molly looks like she's trying to avoid being seen, but this fails when she's spotted by the Women's Champion Victoria, who's nearby talking with Lita. Victoria runs after Molly, who tries to escape but Victoria yanks Molly's wig off! Molly screams and runs off, trying to cover her head as Victoria and Lita share a laugh over the wig.
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
5) KANE vs MAVEN - Maven tried to mount some offense against The Big Red Machine, but he was in no mood after his loss to The Undertaker last night. Kane destroyed Maven and planted him with a huge chokeslam, pinning him for the win in a short match.
KANE CONTINUES HIS ASSAULT - Kane isn't finished though. He continues beating on Maven with punch after punch. The referee tries to get Kane to stop but to no avail. Kane hits him with a thunderous Tombstone! The bell rings repeatedly trying to get Kane to stop. The referee begins talking to Lilian Garcia, who announces that the ref has reversed his decision! The winner by disqualification is Maven! This only makes Kane angrier. He throws Maven to the outside. Tombstone on the floor! Maven is badly hurt. Kane laughs maniacally before finally leaving.
THE DUDLEYZ CONFRONT THE CHAMPS - Booker T & Rob Van Dam are backstage happily talking about their victory earlier tonight. This comes to a stop when they're confronted by Bubba Ray & D-Von, The Dudleyz. After an awkward pause, The Dudleyz congratulate them on their victory as Jim Ross reminds us that these two will meet next week on RAW for the World Tag Team Championship!
THE MAIN EVENT IS UP NEXT! - Chris Benoit is warming up in the locker room when Shawn Michaels enters. Benoit gets up off his chair and stares HBK down. After a few moments, Michaels sticks out his hand. After a few more moments, Benoit shakes it! Benoit and Michaels will have to get along as they battle Triple H and Randy Orton next!
*COMMERCIAL BREAK*
6) EVOLUTION (Triple H & Randy Orton) vs CHRIS BENOIT AND SHAWN MICHAELS - Benoit and HBK meet Orton and HHH on the ramp as they make their way to the ring, they don't want to wait. A great tag team contest ensues, with Benoit and HBK getting the advantage. This is until Batista & Ric Flair make their way to the ring. The referee sees their interference though and sends them to the back! Near the conclusion, Shawn goes for SCM on Orton but hits Earl Hebner instead. Orton hits an RKO as HHH and Benoit brawl on the outside. Orton thinks he has Shawn Michaels beat....until a familiar car wreck is heard! Mick Foley is here! Foley runs down to the ring and the brawl is on! Foley and Orton battle all the way up the ramp as Orton tries to get away. They're out of sight. Back in the ring, Triple H sets up for a Pedigree on Benoit but Michaels hits Sweet Chin Music! Benoit then locks in the Crossface. After several agonising moments, The Game taps out (again!). HBK reluctantly hands Benoit the World Heavyweight Championship, the two standing tall as RAW goes off the air.

This seemed like a realistic approach to the post-WrestleMania episode of RAW. I'm glad you took a completely different approach to the show and did all your own matches, even if some were marginally the same. The Main Event had a nice finish, involving Mick Foley and I hope his feud with Randy Orton can gain some closure soon.
Just a few things to address on both the results and updates. I remember Johnny Nitro wasn't Johnny Nitro at this point, he was "Johnny Spade" until a couple of weeks later when he changed his name again. I'm really wondering how you're going to implement Bret Hart and Sting into this, because while it's all fine and dandy, Hart wouldn't be able to compete, so he'll have to have a managerial role of some kind, and it's still beyond me as to why Sting would change his life-long statement that he would never work for Vince McMahon. So I'm hoping we get some explanation soon.
In regards to the updates, Shawn Michaels to SmackDown wouldn't happen, so I hope you don't go with that. Shawn had prior engagements with his church that prevented him from ever going to SmackDown, hence why he very rarely appeared on the brand, if ever in 2004.
Overall, it was a good first show, still interested as to how you bring in the two legends.

Yeah, I knew Nitro wasn't his name for a few more weeks but it changed so frequently that for simplicity sake, his name is Johnny Nitro. I explained what Bret would likely do in my first PWInsider report. As for Sting, he's never ruled out working for Vince. Even in an interview I saw a few days ago, he said it was a tough question to answer. And again, I explained a lot of it in my PWInsider story. As for HBK to SmackDown, let's just say, sometimes "newz" sites are wrong
