Hey guys,
Been doing some thinking while looking at the Mattel Macho Man figures that have been produced so far. I absolutely love all of them and will buy every single Savage figure made no doubt as I am a huge fan. Growing up in the early 80's I watched Savage's extensive I.C. title runs and his climb to the top as WWF Champion. Absolutely loved his career and I think Mattel is doing a great job capturing his attires throughout the years from the early years with the All Stars 2 pack to his famous orange and pink trunks showcased in the Legends line and Battlepacks to the Pants and Jacket look from the early 90's to even his NWO days in the late 90's. But the one thing I find odd is that of all the Savages so far, we have not seen one with his signature robe. I mean, the flashy Macho Man robes were a key part of the attire for Savage in the 80's and a Elite Flashback Macho Man with the shiny robe and I.C. title would be over the top awesome. Anyone have an Idea or ever ask Mattel why we havent seen Savage figure with the Robe yet? Wondered if it was due to cost issues but Orndorff and Von Erichs all came with robes so I assume it wouldn't be a problem. Anyone else think that a Smiling Scan Savage with robe and Intercontinental belt would be awesome in the flashback line??

I think it'll happen in time. Seems like they are saving the pink wm3 for that

Our best chance at getting a robe was probably with Defining Moments.
You can always buy one from Rolph's.

I agree I think we will eventually get it. I rather have some guys we haven't gotten figs of yet come out first.

We've already had four, soon to be five, Randy Savage in trunks figures. We could do with a rest from those for a while now. The All Stars figure would've been the best bet for a robe.

Wrestlemania 3 Savage was originally scheduled for Defining Moments 5. I would assume that was our best chance at getting a robe for him. Since they canceled DM 5 and bumped up Series 6 to take its place, Im honestly not sure if we'll ever get it or not.

I do agree with you guys that we have gotten a good amount of Savage figures, definitely no complaint there, and I would love to see new faces over remakes or repaints of already made guys in 99% of the time but for me Savage is my favorite all time and it just seems like a hole in my collection not having a robe version. I have seen Ralphs robes they are great but I am mostly a moc collector and just hope somewhere down the road we see one in the flashback line.
The new Heritage Savage from WM 5 is so plain that it should have been saved for a flashback with the awesome robe he wore that night. As a basic its just blah...
Were we slated to get the pink attire in elite form before the Defining Moments was canceled? That would have been the best Savage ever with the belt and robe. And for the price tag that came with the Defining Moments It definitely would warrant coming with a robe and colored I.C. title.

The RSC Macho King had a robe. Personally I think L5 should have had a robe instead of the t-shirt...but I'm hoping we see an elite version of the Battle Pack with a robe. We get that and I'll never need another Savage.

Yeah if I had a Savage with a robe & matching headband then I'd be a happy man. Maybe someday? I'm just glad we are finally getting the grinning scan with brown hair. Can't wait to do some head swaps.

No offense to Ralph, but I didn't think his Savage robes were all that great.

I totally agree with the original poster. I'll still pick up all Macho figs -- and am thrilled they're at least doing something for WM5 with the new heritage figure -- but it's disappointing that we haven't seen any crazy entrance attires since his DM figure. I really miss the Defining Moments series.

Mattel has yet to release a decent iconic looking Macho Man. The Defining Moments comes closest. All the Mattel Savage's are pretty plain.

Which of Macho Man's robes would you guys like to see most? Does one particular come to mind? I would kill for a Mega Powers robed version or the WM 3, 4 or 5 robes come to mind as my top picks. The robe savage wore at WM 4 when he won the title in the tournament was super flashy with a lot of color if I remember correctly.

I hope Mattel does make some mid-80's Macho Man robes, the shirt was nice, but hardly iconic. Here are some WIP shots of a couple of Macho robes I experimented with. I used a process called dye sublimation to achieve these robes. They hold small details very well, and its permanent, not an iron-on. I have since sewn them up and added ribbon around the neck to tie them up. If you are interested in the process or maybe purchasing one, shoot me a PM. Wars +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ EDIT Here you go, not a huge difference from the previous pics, but I really like the ribbon ties. Just so you know, these pics came at a price, lol...

Do you have any other colors and also how much are you asking per robe?
