I have seen a variety of posts in regards to belt preference. Many seem to think that the Shiny belts are the only acceptable belts. Several have indicated a preference for the dull, painted belts because the shiny belts can lose their shine. There may even be a few of you who like the plain dull plastic belts. I'm just trying to learn more about my fellow collectors.

depends on the belt. The WHC for example looks way better in dull form. But the Big Eagle looks horrible dull and unpainted. I voted for dull painted

I've recently changed positions and prefer a painted dull belt. I just like them better and they don't fade.

All depends on the belt, but mostly shiny, besides a few.

I hadn't actually listed what my own preference is. Sorry about that. I agree with a couple of the people who have answered so far. It really depends on the belt. On the one hand, I like the I-C belt that comes w/ big Zeke in E16 better than the one that came with Drew McIntyre in E8. On the other, the Big Eagle belt that comes w/ the RSC Exclusive Austin is worlds better than the dull one included in Target's 3rd champions 4pack. So it really does depend on the belt. On the whole though, if the figure isn't good, the belt is not worth the $17, or more, that most places charge for elite figures. If I had to pick just one style though, shine is not as important to me as accuracy, so I voted for dull, painted belts.

It depends on the belt like everyone else is saying, but I have noticed this, the shiny belts have been prone to being chipped before I even get them out of the box. This has happened to at least 5 or 6 of the belts I have, the most recent being the E16 Diesel I picked up. There is a chip of Gold missing, with dull silver showing from underneath.
I suppose this question would also hold bearing on who plays, who displays, and who collects MOC. The chipping could affect anyone, and the vac belts losing their luster would affect people who display loose and have dust prone homes, or people who play and handle them often. I agree that the color of the painted dull belts makes a difference. I like the color of the plate, for instance, on Eddie Guerrero's Undisputed belt and Ezekiel Jackson's IC title. It looks decent on the dull WHC, and makes the details much easier to see. The only dull painted one I hate is the WWE Championship. That's an awful dolor of Gold. If they had made it like Zeke's IC I'd be okay with it.
The unpainted dull belts that come in those target packs would be great for play and good for kids, but the color they're cast in look like Werther's candy. And the dull Diva title looks like a piece of Laffy Taffy.

Shiny for the most part but I don't mind the dull painted versions at all.
